I want to change the home currency?

Hi there, m-zaitoon.

The multicurrency feature is only available for QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. You should be able to see this option from Account and Settings under the Home Currency if you've subscribe to one of the version mentioned above.

You can change your home currency as long as you have not set up Multi Currency yet. If so, please follow the steps below on how change home currency.

1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner.

2. Select Account and Settings. Then choose Advanced tab.

3. Go to Currency section. Then click the pencil icon.

4. Choose your Home Currency from drop-down arrow.

5. Hit the Save button. Then Done.

If Multi currency is already turned on, take note that QuickBooks doesn't allow you to change the home currency. This is to avoid messing up the account, especially when adjusting the sales tax.

Please check these articles how multicurrency gives you the ability to record transactions in foreign currencies and to see different information about Home currency adjustments that can help you when using the Multi-currency feature in QBO:

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.

I want to change the home currency?

Hi there, @Bilal Afridi,

Part of the agreement before turning on the Multicurrency feature in QuickBooks is its fixed the home currency. See this:

Once you save the changes, the action is irreversible and you can no longer recall it at a later point in time. You will see this information in  this article: Turn on Multicurrency

However, if your company is new, you have the option to delete your data by purging the file or cancelling the account and starting all over again. Here's a link to where you can find the information about this: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online

Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be right here if you need anything else. Have a good one!

I want to change the home currency?

I am on Quickbooks desktop Mac 2021 free trial, and there is no 'Gear' and no ability to change currency. We operate in USD and my invoices are showing pounds... what would you recommend?

@mkraker

Afaik, QBD Mac doesn't support multi currency and it will use the currency setting on you Mac as the home currency of your QBD. It is possible you set GBP as the currency setting on you Mac.

Hey there, raheelcbs.

As mentioned by a peer above, once you modify the currency and save the changes, the action is irreversible and cannot be undone. You will see this information in this article: Turn on Multicurrency.

However, if the company is new, we can either delete the data by purging the file or canceling the account and starting over. Here's a link to more information on this: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.

Please keep me updated if you have any additional questions about QuickBooks Online currencies, raheelcbs. I'm always willing to help out. I wish you and your company continued success.
