I am writing to request assistance with wiping out my QuickBooks production environment.
As part of our operational strategy, we need to reset our QuickBooks data to ensure accuracy and efficiency in our financial records. Therefore, we kindly request your support in facilitating this process.
Could you please guide us through the necessary steps or initiate the procedure from your end? Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Request to Wipe Out QuickBooks Production Environment

I can help you reset your QuickBooks data, @kbs24. Let me go over some details to help you achieve the task.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) has the option to delete your data to start fresh. Before doing so, you have a few things to consider. I recommend exporting all of the transactions and other data from your company and saving them on your desktop folder so you'll have a backup copy of your company file.

Once done, we can proceed to the process of deleting your data. There are two ways how you can do it. If your books are less than 60 days, you can delete the company. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account as an admin.
  2. Once you're signed in, open this link. Alternatively, you can go to the URL in your browser's address bar, delete all the text and enter the following web address instead: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany
  3. To confirm you want to delete your company data, type Yes.
  4. Select OK, then Wipe data.

When finished, you can start anew.

If your company is more than 60 days old, you'll need to cancel your QBO company to start a new one. I'll guide you on how:

  1. Open your QBO account and sign in as an admin user.
  2. Next, click the Settings icon and choose Account and settings.
  3. From there, select the Billing & Subscription tab.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, click Cancel subscription or Cancel online.
  5. Follow the onscreen steps to finish the process.
  6. Once done, you can now start a new company.

This method will give you read-only access to view your data for a year. The system will delete it after that time frame.

Moreover, I'm adding these resources as additional guidance as you start using your new QuickBooks Online account for bookkeeping:

I'm all ears if you have further questions about the process of resetting your QuickBooks data, @kbs24. I'll be around to further assist.
