How to make entries in QB for Investor Dividend payment

Hello, SHIBU.

I know a way to record Investor Dividend payments.

To allocate the entries, you can create an equity account. Then, you can record the investor payments by entering an expense or check transaction.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Chart of accounts.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the Account Type dropdown, choose Equity.
  5. Under Detail Type, select Retained Earnings or Owner's Equity.
  6. In the Name section, you can enter your preferred such as Investor Dividend.
  7. Once done, hit Save and Close.

After that, you can start recording payments by creating an expense or check. I'll show you how.

  1. Click the + New icon.
  2. Select Expense or Check.
  3. Enter necessary information such as Payee, Payment account, Payment date, and Payment method.
  4. In the Category column, choose the Equity account you've just created.
  5. Enter the amount.
  6. Once done, hit Save and close.

For future reference, I've also added this article for more details: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. This contains helpful information for ensuring downloaded bank transactions are in the correct accounts.
