Reports which are exported in excel has the below issue. The dates are not in the date format. The data is stored as General format and does not change properly to dates

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Ram15.

I would love to help you, but I just need some details about your concern. Could you please provide further details on what part of the report you're having issues with and which solutions did not work for you? There were multiple suggestions provided in the previous replies.

Any additional information or a screenshot of the interface will be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your reply. Have a good one!

Reports which are exported in excel has the below issue. The dates are not in the date format. The data is stored as General format and does not change properly to dates

Thank you for offering to help.  The problems are in the French version of QuickBooks Online.  My settings clearly state a date format of dd/mm/yyyy.

However, the system mixes the format up:

  • the list of invoices on the screen shows mm/dd/yyyy;
  • in customer's details the list of their transactions shows in dd/mm/yyyy;
  • bank transactions show as dd/mm/yyyy.

But it does seem that either the US and/or UK version is updating the code in the French system (despite it being discontinued) and some improvements have been made across the board (ie, in other areas that were ridiculously impossible, such as the online payment option not showing/available on recurring automatic invoices).  Improvements are welcome, though too late.

Thank you.

Thank you for posting here in the Community.

Currently, the US or UK version is not updating the code in the French system in QBO. In the meantime, I recommend sending your feedback to our Product Development Team. Here is how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion and click Next.
  4. Type your email address.
  5. Once done, click Send Message.

Our product engineers will consider your suggestions. Also, feel free to visit our Feedback forum page to see a list of other QuickBooks users who have already suggested this feature and the recent updates in QuickBooks.

I'll add this article for future reference: Run, print, email, and export reports in QuickBooks Online.

For additional QuickBooks-related concerns, don't hesitate to post them here in the Community. We're always available and willing to lend a hand to your queries. Have a great day ahead.

To be honest, we're through with QB France because of all the issues.  Why code is being updated when they are ending the product and not supporting it anymore is beyond me.  I do not want to waste more time on feedback.  All the feedback I've given in the past to try to help, plus get big issues sorted for our use, have not been followed up, so the message to clients is pretty clear.  Thanks for your feedback though.

Thank you!  This is the first thing that has worked for me and I've tried so many suggestions.  I had to make sure that the "Date2" column was is date format (format the cell) after I put in your suggested formula.  Then i just copied it all for the way down the column by clicking the lower right side of the first formatted cell.
