Hi
I am using UAE version of QBO but current invoice format is not in accordance with UAE FTA Article 59, full tax invoices are to be issued - line items have to show the tax value and net value.
see the screenshot where we need to show the vat on each line (products/services).
I'll share some details with your concern about VAT in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @SuperStar777.
We have added new features in QBO to make VAT filing easier for our UAE users. These are VAT codes, an option to include locations in transactions, as well as a new VAT return form. Check out this article for a list of FAQs about these features: VAT Feature Update FAQ.
As for the option to include the tax amounts per line item, this is currently unavailable. The total tax is at the bottom part of the invoice.
If you need to change the sales form templates in QBO, keep this article for reference: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Leave a comment below if you have other questions about VAT in QBO. I'll be glad to assist you further. Have a pleasant day!
Hi
I believe you are not aware of UAE version. It does not have option to upload our own template for estimate or invoice.
As said vat per item is mandatory as per UAE Tax authority. How come QBO development team is not aware of it and not implemented the features to have itemized vat
all UAE users are having same issue
we will end up paying penalty if VAT is not showing on each line item on the tax invoice
i can see the tax on line item is showing only on the invoice customize page but on the the actual invoice
This is mandatory from TAX Authority. please fix the issue on the tax invoice immediately!
Appreciate the update, @SuperStar777.
I'll make sure you're able to display the VAT rate of your tax invoices in QuickBooks Online.
I recreated how you described the problem using our test account and found out that the VAT rate indeed is showing on invoices. With this, let's make sure not to use a customised template of invoices and use the default one instead. I'll show you how.
Kindly read this article to learn more about customising the template of an invoice: Customise Invoice Template in QuickBooks Online.
Now that the tax rate is showing upon creating your invoices, here's a reference with the steps in creating a document for your clients showing what is due for a certain number of days: Create and Send Statements in QuickBooks Online. This way, you can remind them and let them prepare the needed payment for your invoices.
I've got you covered if you have questions about QuickBooks invoicing. Don't forget to include my name, @JonpriL, in your reply in the comments below so that I can get back here and lend a hand. Take care always, @SuperStar777!
Hi
i am well versed in these stuff you mentioned here. I have only one standard invoice as template
kindly see the attached screenshots . the file names are self explanatory
File : custom invoice screen
As said, during customization, the itemized VAT is appearing (not able to preview the PDF it only give blank popup page)
File : actual invoice
After the actual invoice is generated, itemized VAT will not appear. VAT column disappeared!
Thanks for coming back, @SuperStar777.
Let's make sure we update your Adobe Reader/Acrobat. Just check the Adobe website for detailed instructions. Then, try to print and preview the invoice to see if the tax rate column is showing. If you've updated to the latest version of Adobe Reader/Acrobat and it hasn’t fixed the problem, we'll need to repair your Adobe installation. You can follow the steps and details in his article: How to update, repair, or re-install Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
If the same thing happens, it can be your default browser's history data may be tainted, which could result in unexpected program behavior. To better isolate this issue, let's perform some steps below to confirm browser-related issues:

Hi all,
I noticed that QBO has introduced new invoice templated to incorporate VAT on each line (named Airy New) unfortunately this work with only Essential Subscription and not working with QuickBooks Plus Subscription (though QuickBooks Plus is costlier than Essential.
Can you please fix this ASAP ?
Hello there, SuperStar777.
I understand how important it is for your business to include VAT on each line item on the invoice. This ensures that the format is correct and that you can file the tax return smoothly.
Because the Airy New template in the Essentials version includes VAT on each line, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online (QBO) Care Team again for further investigation. They have additional tools to help you figure out why the VAT column and other information are not showing up in QuickBooks Plus.
Once the permanent solution is available, our specialists will walk you through the steps of implementing it. For support information, I still recommend following the steps outlined by my peer above.
I want to make sure you have everything you need to easily complete any tasks in your company. That is why I've included a link to our self-help articles. From there, you'll see topics about managing your taxes, customer or supplier's transactions, and other accounting processes.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to help. Feel free to visit the Community again if you have other VAT-related concerns or questions about QBO. I'm always willing to help in any way I can. Have a wonderful day.
