As a small business owner on the go, meeting your clients outside the office on a regular basis is to be expected. While some might say that it’s not about the venue, but what you’re there to talk about, our experience suggest that the meeting location can be helpful in setting the right context for the conversation. So here’s our pick on where arrange a meeting with business associates and collaborators.
Breakfast of Champions
A sandwich spot with serious street cred, 1KS is the in-house café of co-working space, The Working Capitol, tucked at the corner of Keong Saik Street. The café is helmed by the same team as the uber hip Park Bench Deli. Level up your morning meetings with superfood smoothies and cold-pressed juices, or might we suggest, a tasty made-to-order sandwich.
The Providore (OUE Downtown or Raffles Green)
Need a quick meeting spot in the heart of the city? The Providore is a reliable option, with ample seating, decent coffee and a variety of solid breakfast bites. The no-fuss contemporary bistro fits anything from a quick breakfast or coffee meeting to an early working lunch. We are partial to the Raffles Green location for convenience, and the OUE Downtown if a tad more privacy is required.
When breakfast equals avocado toast, nothing beats The Lokal’s smashed avocado toast with ricotta. This cozy Aussie café at the corner of Neil Road ticks all the right boxes – hearty breakfast plates, good coffee from Sarnies, and right smacked at the fringe of the CBD. It’s close to a fair number of co-working spaces if you’re looking for a quiet space. Perfect for a casual breakfast meeting or a morning interview.
Mid-Day Huddle
When you need a lunch location with some added swag, The Black Swan transports you to a sophisticated Gatsby-era in the CBD area. Their set lunches are elegant without being complicated, so you don’t have to struggle with micro herbs in your teeth while discussing business. Quick Tip: You can’t go wrong with The Black Swan Burger. Bar snacks are served after 3pm, and if you’re looking for a quiet tete-a-tete, avoid the daily happy hour, even if it is amazing value.
