Are you sure using the QBO AU version? Afaik, Chinese language is only available in QBO Global version. Or did you set something in the browser?
Welcome to the Community, @gus-macmillan.
If you're using the International QuickBooks version, our supported language is English, Chinese, Français, Italiano, and Español.
You can change the language back to English on the Advanced settings page. Here's how:
This option is not available if you're using QBO AU, US or UK since this setting is only for the global version.

Hi
thanks for your reply. I am using the AUversion of QuickBooks, and still have had no luck changing the language from mandarin to English. Have you any other suggestions I could try?
thanks

Hi Gus-
Could you let me know if you're accessing QuickBooks using a browser or using the App? Based on your answer, what browser, or what system are you using (Mac or PC)?
We might be able to try a couple of other things.

HI
I am using Safari with Mac iOS Mojave
Cheers
Gus
Hi Gus-
Hmm, first, let me know how you signed up? On a desktop, on a mobile device (what device)?
Also try accessing QuickBooks on Chrome. Safari can suffer from unexpected functionality because they tend to update their browser on a different schedule than Chrome and we build on Chrome so it's more reliable functionality.
We can also try accessing QuickBooks on a different IP address, if you're on a particular IP or using a VPN, this could cause the language to default to another region. You can use your phone as a hotspot and then connect your computer to that hotspot and then see if QBO is still in Mandarin.
Keep me posted!

Curious. Can you share us the screenshot?
Another question, Where were you when opening the account for first time? Were you in AU or abroad?
As another workaround, explore Chronobooks to copy your data between QBO accounts. Once you are ready to proceed, open a new QBO AU version and cancel the old one. You may have time until next week to try this workaround.

Good luck!
here is a screenshot of the program running in Safari - I am based in melbourne Australia and am not using a VPN.
Hi gus-macmillan,
Did you happen to sign up to QuickBooks on the Apple App Store, which had Chinese running as the language?
In any case, I recommend contacting our Support Team so we can look into fixing it for you in the back end. There is also the option to purge the company if it's less than 90 days old, however I see that you have entered some data into the company already.

Hi ,
have you fixed this issue? i have the same problem at the moment.
Hi MagZZZZ,
Just to double check, could you let me know if you're accessing QuickBooks using a browser or using the App? Did you happen to sign up to QuickBooks on the Apple App Store, which had Chinese running as the language?
Hope to hear from you soon,
-Steven
