Do you have to use PayPal for credit card payment? Can I use Square instead?

Hello there, Anthony. I appreciate you adding your first post here in the Community. Let me share details about processing credit card payments in QuickBooks Online (QBO) AU.

PayPal is the only merchant option for payments in QBO AU that allows your customers to pay their invoices online anytime and anywhere on any device by credit/debit card powered by PayPal payments.

On the other hand, you can still use the Square app for your business. With this option, your Square sales data is automatically imported into your QuickBooks account and save you from manual entry. Once imported, you can match and categorise them from the Banking tab.

If you are running a service company, you can utilize a proposal management app to integrate with QBO and accept payments by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover (Domestic), JCB, UnionPay, and Direct Debit.

Is there any plans to be able to use Square as a payment option? The Charity I volunteer for does not have a PayPal account but they do use Square. I'm looking to see how corporate donors might be able to make online payment via credit or debit cards.

Currently, we only offer the synchronisation of transactions from Square to QuickBooks Online (QBO) as an app integration.

We'd love to hear your input. I highly recommend leaving feedback to notify our product engineers about this feature. This way, they can consider adding it in future updates.

Here's how to submit feedback:

1. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), go to the Gear (Settings) icon at the top right.
2. Select Feedback.
3. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then click Next to submit.
