I have the same issues, have spent a lot of time on the phone to quickbooks help. They have never heard of the issue and not sure why its there. Basically they do not have any answers.
Hi soulsolarconsult,
It seems both you and cowanunder are experiencing the same outage.
This happened due to a recent change on the ANZ website which interrupted the QuickBooks bank connection.
As a result of this change, if customers are signed into ANZ internet banking website and simultaneously attempting to connect with ANZ account in QuickBooks, customers will be prompted in-product to sign out of other device e.g. ANZ internet banking website (error 179).
This is a result of a ANZ security setting limiting the access to ANZ on multiple devices/browsers. Please sign out of any other instances before attempting to update your bank feeds.
If this persists then please get in touch with our support team who will help you troubleshoot or escalate this further if needed.
You can get in touch with them using this link - https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_AU/contact
I hope this clears things up for you.
Kristian.
I'm having this same issue and not logged into my bank on any other device. What is the fix for this as I've yet to see a post saying what to do.

Does anyone know what's going on with ANZ? I've been getting this error message for several days now when I try to connect to my bank from Quickbooks Self Employed; "Bank connection down"
Hi Jimmyd998,
Thanks for joining the thread. You'll encounter errors in QuickBooks Self-Employed if the bank's system has issues. Once their website is up and running, go to the Gear icon, select Bank accounts, then click Refresh all.
Also, ANZ has a security setting where you'll receive an error while accessing their website on multiple devices/browsers simultaneously. It's best to sign out to your ANZ online banking from other devices/browsers before you update your bank feeds QuickBooks Self-Employed.
If the same thing happens, please use an incognito window and update it from there. Here are some of the keyboard shortcuts:
In addition, I suggest clearing the cache and making sure that the browser is updated to fix issues when using QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Feel free to drop a comment below if you need further assistance. Have a nice day!
I've just received this email from intuit and I'm not very happy with this:
Dear iTech, |

ANZ has notified us that they no longer fully support standard bank feed connections. |
|||||
As a QuickBooks Self Employed customer with ANZ standard bank feed connection(s), this means your ANZ transaction data may no longer be correctly imported to your QuickBooks account. |

To continue importing all your bank transaction data, you can: |

My response to this is the following:
Instead of asking me to spend more money, why isn’t the same functionality a part of Quickbooks self employed that is apparently available in Quickbooks online. I’ve been able to import my bank information up to this point, so just make whatever already works in the online version work in the self employed version so I don’t have to go through the stress of changing and hoping all of my data imports across to the online version of quickbooks.
A disappointed customer,
Jim McDonald
