Why does Quickbooks insist on an OPT-OUT marketing policy when the law in Australis for marketing is OPT-IN?

It's a fair question given the setting is very hidden.

Settings -> Account and Settings -> Company (default tab)

Scroll to the bottom to "Communications with Intuit"

This has a URL linked to "To opt out of communications click here" which goes to https://quickbooks.intuit.com/au/unsubscribe/

It's a lot of work forced ipon *every* invited Intuit QBO user - not even just the account owner.

In essence, Intuit QBO treats users invited to do book-keeping as automatically signed up Intuit QBO marketing targets. For the record - this is illegal in Australia.

Let me know.

Hello hosistankovic,

Thanks for the detailed information. The link to opt out of communications is only an option in QuickBooks. I can send feedback to our engineers about this. They can consider changing this feature in the future update.

Meanwhile, I've added our page about exploring your file if in case you need to compare company information.

Please don't hesitate to reach out anytime if you need help with anything else. We're always here to help.
