Thank you for adding a screenshot, Julie.
It isn't the kind of experience we want you to come across.
Currently, we have an ongoing issue with connecting Capitec Bank and receiving error 192. For the moment, kindly use the Import CSV Feature as a workaround.
I'll walk you through the steps. Before doing so, you'll have to format the CSV file. When your file is formatted correctly, you can follow these steps to upload your transactions into your QuickBooks account:
Also, I'd recommend reaching out to our phone support team so you'll be added as one of the affected users. You can contact them through the ? Help menu.
Once your transactions are in your QuickBooks account, you can categorise to put them in the correct accounts. I've added this link for the detailed steps of the process: Categorise transactions.
We appreciate your patience while we're working to resolve this issue the soonest.
My Captitec savings account also used to work and now just gives an error 192.
Did anyone have any luck yet resolving this?
Downloading transactions manually is just not a viable option, to be honest.
Thanks for joining in on this conversation, Renier. Let me step in and explain why you're encountering an error message when getting the most recent transactions in your Capitec Savings Account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Error 192 indicates that your bank requires additional sign information, which prohibits QBO from downloading banking transactions automatically. As per checking, there is an ongoing investigation into the Capitec Bank receiving error 192 when connecting and updating. Rest assured that our engineering team is working hard to identify the source of the problem and deliver a solution.
As a workaround, manually upload transactions into QBO. Ensure to know the date of the oldest existing transaction in the account to avoid entering duplicates.
In the meantime, I recommend getting in touch with our customer support team so they can add you to the list of impacted users. This way, you'll receive email updates regarding the investigation status. Here's how:
Additionally, I advise doing a monthly account reconciliation to make sure your accounts match your bank statements.

Just to keep everyone updated. I contacted support today.
Case 15100313121 is still experienced by all Capitec customers - Error 192
"Capitec Bank - Personal Banking uses a security method that prevents us from adding it. Sign in to your bank's site, then try connecting again in a few hours. (192)"
I was issued a new case number 15111069571.
Kindly don't respond with that standard message to say that in the meantime we can upload via CSV answer, that is NOT a workable solution. We buy professional products like Quickbooks and expect them to work accordingly. Please escalate this matter and kindly get the problem resolved.
