Currently, the Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWD) currency is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. It may show Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWD) as the home currency but it uses the United States Dollar (USD). Zimbabwe uses both USD and ZWD. At this time, QuickBooks Online (QBO) uses USD as the official currency. This is the reason why the system won't show ZWD for multi-currency.
However, I'll take note of this and pass along the information to our product developers. This way, they'll be able to review and work on the feature as soon as possible.
For additional information about multi-currency, you can read this article: About Multicurrency.

Thanks got it - now working on invoice customization - is there a way to change invoice tax narration to show "Total VAT" as opposed to "Total Tax" in the invoice total summary? My invoice legally has to display the total VAT and narrate it as such. Thanks
Hello there, faraimose,
You can import your own custom form style for invoice. This will let you change Total Tax to Total VAT.
Here's how:
You can create different sample designs using these feature to highlight your brand. For more details, you can check this article: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates. Here's another one: Customize your invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
I see that the ZWL or ZWD is still not available.
The default USD setting is fine if you are only using one currency. However I need to set multi currency, one being USD, the other ZWL.
How do you propose we handle this scenario?
Consider switching to QB Desktop US version
Deploy a private cloud should you need to access you file(s) by internet connection.
Hi @KarynMojo , if you prefer to subscribe QB desktop US version here link you'll need to click : https://quickbooks.grsm.io/US or https://quickbooks.grsm.io/us-promo . Glad to assist you.
We would need to do cloud hosting then, the one branch is in Zimbabwe and the other in South Africa. Is there any recommendations on this front?
We were wanting to use add on apps like Method: CRM and Shop Monkey in conjunction with QB Online. Are this still available on QB Desktop?
Your advice and assistance is truly appreciated!

Do you need deploying a private cloud to combine LAN users and remote users working on the same file? or do you prefer to put your license and company file(s) on a QB cloud hosting?

If you are using M:CRM now, it supports both QBO and QBD. Shop Monkey only supports QBO. You may need a 3rd party tool to import data into your QBD file. You may schedule an automatic daily import if required.

You may purchase a one time license thru a partner/reseller for a lower price. Make sure you secure a free upgrade option to QBD 2021.
This seems like one huge big effort to simply try and accommodate a currency?
I think we may need to look at alternatives outside of QuickBooks unfortunately.

Hi there, I am now also setting up Quickbooks for a Zimbabwean company and see that the Zim dollar is still not set up. Has there been any progress on this? I need multi-currency ZWD and USD. Thanks in advance
Thanks for joining us here, FBallance.
I'd like to let you know that Zimbabwe Dollar is still not available in QuickBooks Online. You'll want to add a feature request about adding it in the list of supported currencies.
All customer suggestions and feedback are forwarded to our product engineers to be reviewed when new updates are designed. Here's how:
In the meantime, you'll want to enter and use your own exchange rate using a dummy currency. Here's an article as a guide: Enter and Use Your Own Exchange Rates.
