Hi info,

We put much value into your account and data security, and we'd like to keep it that way with your synced accounts, too.

The email alert that you've received doesn't necessarily mean that your bank is hacked. Most banks send alerts like this to ensure that only you are accessing your account even if you're using another device, or logging in through a different domain, like intuit.com.

Also, this is how to update your username and password:

  1. Choose Banking.
  2. Select on the account.
  3. First, do a manual update.  For these steps, please see: Automatic and Manual online banking updates. This should prompt error 103 with a Reconnect my account link. Select Reconnect my account and reenter your new credentials.
  4. If an error is not prompted or you do not see the link to reconnect my account, select the Pencil icon on the right of the bank name to edit.
  5. Select the Edit sign-in info.
  6. Enter in your updated bank website User ID and Password.
  7. Select the Save and connect.
  8. QuickBooks Online will connect with your bank to verify the info you've entered.
  9. Once you see the message that your credentials have been updated, select I'm done, Let's go!

Fill me in if you have further concerns.

Do not change your ID or PASSWORD.  Get your banking OFF THE NET and out of the CLOUD!  Please, do some research about online security, hacks, and breaches.  They are strong and forceful.  INTUIT is a good company with good products; however, they want to keep your payments coming in so they will always give a one-sided, biased, although thoughtful response.  Make your own choice but from what you wrote, that EVERY TIME you post a bank transaction, you get hacked.  Do yourself a favor and get a different way to handle this part of your life.  Best wishes.

I just had a bank security breach ~ 2 months after starting to use QuickBooks 2021.

I found it interesting that in QuickBooks 2021, you now have to have an Intuit Account.  So after using QuickBooks Desktop for > 10 years, 2 months after setting up an Intuit Account (required to even access my own company data) my bank account password is hacked.

Per the Intuit Website - requiring an Intuit account provides for: Better control and protection of data.

Complete b.s.

There are no coincidences.
