I started a trial 160 days ago. I subscribed now but want to start over as all my books were done in quickbooks desktop up to now. How to I start over?

QuickBooks Online allows you to delete your data to start over, Geoff.

The option is only available for an account that is less than 60 days old. Since you've reached the limit, we'll need to cancel your subscription. Then, create a new account.

Here's how to cancel your account:

  1. Open a web browser on your computer, not a mobile device.
  2. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as the primary or company admin.
  3. Go to the Gear icon and then select Subscriptions and billing.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, click Cancel subscription or Cancel online
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.

When you cancel QuickBooks, it doesn't delete your data. You'll have read-only access to your company data for one year.

After that, let's create a new company:

  1. Sign up for QuickBooks Online.
  2. Enter your user ID and password. You can use the same user ID and password as before.
  3. Then, set up your business info.

For more details, please see this article: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, import your desktop data to your new account.

Additionally, I've added an article that provides you with the necessary guidance, troubleshooting tips, and self-learning resources to navigate the software effectively and efficiently: Getting Started with QuickBooks Online International versions.

We want to make sure that you can start over. Please keep us posted if you have any follow-up questions about deleting the data. I'm always happy to provide additional assistance.

I cancelled my trial but I cannot start a new company. My old one still there when I log on

Maybe I must still wait a bit as I see my cancellation is still pending. Any idea how long until its cancelled?

Hello there, @GeoffMohr.

I'll help you create a new company after the cancellation of your subscription.

You can still access the company file until your next billing date after cancelling the 30-day free trial. Then, you will only have a read-only access for one year from the date of cancellation.

Here's how:

  1. Go to this link: Intuit Accounts - Sign In
  2. Don't fill this out if you don't want to use anew account with your new company file to create.
  3. Click the Adding a company to an existing account?.
  4. Select the Sign in link.
  5. Sign in with the user ID and password you use for QuickBooks.

Here is the article for the detailed steps: Create or add another company file to QuickBooks Online.

I'm also adding this article you can read about switching companies in QuickBooks OnlineHow do I switch companies?
