I have a premier 2018 backup where can I get the download link for the correct install file?

In South Africa, Intuit no longer supports the QuickBooks 2018 Premier version of QuickBooks Desktop, as it is an older version of the software. As a result, the download links for this version are no longer available on the official website.

If your company file originates from the United States, Canada and United Kingdom you can download the installer using this link: Download and Update.

Please note that you'll need both the License Number and the Product Code to install the software and restore the backup file.

I have tried the USA install and it does not allow me to access the data. ( the Data is South African)

Is there a newer version of QuickBooks that I can restore the 2018 Premier backup on ?

I just want to be able to see and report on the data?

QuickBooks data files are region-specific, so you need to upgrade to a matching regional version, johann.

Since you have South African data, only a matching version can read, restore, or upgrade the data. It's the reason why other regional versions, like the U.S., cannot open your file due to compliance and localization differences. That said, I would like to know where you bought your subscription from, as QuickBooks Desktop is available in the US, CA, and the UK.

If you subscribed using the UK version, we're unable to restore your backup file because of the discontinuation. Otherwise, try the installer link shared by JayneusR above if your company file is from the United States or Canada. Alternatively, you can view and run reports by running a trial version.

Since your backup file was the South African version of QuickBooks, it cannot be restored or opened using a trial version of the US or Canadian editions due to region-specific compliance, localization, and format differences. 

To retrieve or access your data file, you would need to locate the original installation file or contact QuickBooks South Africa support for options regarding reinstalling or upgrading the software. Given the circumstances, a trial version from other regions, such as the US or Canada, will not read or restore your South African data.

Surely in Quickbooks one should have the tools to restore a backup and just be able to view the data, or convert the data to a current version even?

Weird that this is so difficult to find?

QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is available only in the US, CA, and UK versions. However, the UK version has been discontinued.

If you're using the discontinued QBDT UK version, you can still install the software and restore your backup file. Just ensure you have the License Number, Product Code, and a device that meets the system requirements. Then, follow the steps below:

1. Visit this link.

If you're using the US or CA version, you can download the trial via this link and select Get a trial version. You'll then receive an article tailored to the version you choose. Follow the steps to download a 30-day trial of QBDT.

It appears there are NO trial version of Quickbooks Desktop for South Africa..

My backup is Premier version 2016 South Africa..

Any one have an install file for this version ( South Africa)?

None of the other country versions are working for me
