Is it possible to track time and run payroll for South African Companies in QBO?
If so is QBO capable of creating a file which can be imported into the bank or synchronized from QBO to the bank in order to make payments to the employees and contractors?
I've come to share details about running payroll for South African companies in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Nicola _K.
For the time being, the feature to track time and run payroll in QBO (South Africa) isn't yet possible. With this, we're unable to synchronize with your bank to make online payments for employees and contractors. However, you can record those transactions in your account manually by recording a payroll journal entry. To do this, here's how:
For the step-by-step guide, please refer to this article: Recording payroll transactions manually.
Once you're done, I'd recommend pulling up the Journal report. This way, you're able to monitor the year-to-date payments to your employees. To do this, go to the For my accountant section from the Reports menu's Standard tab.
Additionally, here's an article that'll further guide you in getting the most of your financial reports in QBO: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.
Please don't hesitate to keep me posted on how it goes. You can leave a comment below if you have other payroll information concerns or questions about managing employee transactions through journal entries in QBO. Take care and stay safe always, @Nicola _K.
Thank you for your response. Why does the South African version of QuickBooks not have the same capabilities as those in the other countries? I worked with the USA version for many years for US based companies and it was fantastic, now using the South African version is rather disappointing.
