Surely all that needs to be done is a Purchase order form to be created  showing the SKU. This is totally unacceptable.

This is a great feature. However, is there a way that the SKU can show up on the PO for ordering from vendors, and NOT on the customer's invoices?

Adding a column for SKU on purchase transactions is not a feature right now. I understand that having such an option is useful for your business, so I encourage you to submit your feedback. That way, our product engineers can consider making enhancements in future updates.

Hundreds (maybe thousands) of people have submitted this request, and it's gone unchanged. 

What is the purpose of the SKU?  Why would you need a reference number you don't want to share with your supplier?

This is the identifying number for a product when you are ordering goods from a vendor - it is extremely important. 

I personally have been requesting this feature since 2016 - nothing as been done.  How is it possible that this column is on a invoice (there is really is not necessary), but cannot be added to a PO where is is essential in the ordering process.  

I agree with you that it is important, but the SKU number does not print on Purchase Orders!  Are you able to show SKU numbers on Purchase orders?

Asking thousands of users to add the sku to the description of an item is ridiculous - I personally have thousands of skus that I would have to do this for, which would take hundreds of manhours to do,  only to delete this out of the description when and if QB ever decides to fix the issue.  Adding the SKU number to the description also affects the sorting of item in a manner that I don't wish to use.   QB I have been asking for this fix since 2016 and it looks like I'm not on the only one, how about you listen to what your users need?

2019?  I have been requesting this fix since 2016?

I literally typed into Google "alternative financial or ERP systems that are not a POS like QB" (And I don't mean Point of Sale) and I got a choice between Oracle Netsuite and Acumatic. Bye bye QB!

How ridiculous is it that I can't send a proper PO to a vendor with the actual sku/part number?!?!

QB is making it more and more obvious that I need to find another solution.

1000 times yes - they'll monkey around with other stuff that isn't beneficial and this highly important item isn't getting to our vendors.  Maybe in another 20 years they'll fix this.

Why can't we edit a PO template to include the fields we want just like an invoice?

I understand the problem that a single part might have a sales SKU and a different purchase SKU
Solution for quick books development team is to add a field in Products and Services as "Vendor SKU" and this should appear as a column in POs

That would be nice... but right now we don't even have the option to show the existing SKU.

I encourage you to add your vote by sending a feature request in the Feedback section within QuickBooks. Our product development team reviews the suggestions they receive to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our customers.

1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
   
2. Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
3. You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send a message.

How on earth can you guys ignore such an obvious request for so long? This feed started in 2019...seems like most people would like to be able to include the SKU as a specific line item on the purchase order list.

Still nothing.

Pretty much makes QBO unusable for POs... defeating much of its purpose for inventory asset management.
