How do I go and view statements of my customers? I need a quick way of checking my customer’s statement of account.

If I have invoiced customers and sent invoices an statements, how do I retrieve the statements later for reference?

How do I go and view statements of my customers? I need a quick way of checking my customer’s statement of account.

Good day, @ndaba-thulamelac. I can help you pull up a report that you need to get the customer statements for your reference.

You can view your customer statements by filtering the Sales menu in your QuickBooks account. This way, you’ll be able to see their summaries of invoices and payments, including other transactions.

Here’s how:

  1. On the left pane, go to the Sales menu.
  2. Navigate to the All sales tab.
  3. Select the Filter ▼ dropdown.
  4. Choose Statements in the Type dropdown.
  5. Select the date range from the Date dropdown.
  6. In the Customer dropdown, select the customers you want to see the statements for. Then, click Apply.

In case you want to delete or customise statements, you can refer to this article. Through this, you can take a look at their deadlines.

Another way of checking such information related to customers is by running a Transaction List by Customer Report. You can customise it to show your desired data or transactions. I’ll be glad to show you how:

  1. On the left pane, go to the Reports menu.
  2. Look or search for Transaction List by Customer Report.
  3. Click on the Customise button.
  4. Under the Filter section, tick the boxes of the data you want to be shown.
  5. Tap Run report.

To learn more about personalising reports, you can read through this article. You can then save it to preserve the customisation by memorising it.

Kindly update me on how things go by adding another comment below. I want to make sure your report is accurate. I'm always here if you need further guidance about statement transactions for your customers. Have a great day!

How do I go and view statements of my customers? I need a quick way of checking my customer’s statement of account.

I have followed the instructions given by @JamaicaA

When I go to All Sales then filter, there is no option for Statements.

When I search Reports, there is no Transactions by Customer report.

Is this because I am using QBO Simple Start? Simple Start allows me to send statements, how can I see them?

Please help.

Thanks for joining this thread, @ValkyrieAnne.

I appreciate you providing details of your concern. I'd be glad to provide some steps on how you can view all your sent statements in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes, you're right that the All Sales tab doesn't have a filter for statements, and you're also unable to view the said report because of your QBO Simple Start version. Please use this article for reference on what reports you can pull up with that subscription: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online subscription.

To answer your query, we can pull up the Statement List report to display all of your sent statements. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. In the search field, you can enter and click on Statement List.
  3. In the upper-right corner, click the Customize button.
  4. Choose the Change columns link, then place a checkmark next to the information you want to see.
  5. Tap the Filter drop-down, then choose the date range under the Statement Date section.
  6. Select Run report.
  7. Click on each transaction to view the information.

Additionally, you can focus on the details that matter the most to you when you pull up reports in QBO. If you wish to know more about this process, I recommend checking out this article: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know how these steps work out for you by adding a comment below. I'd be glad to answer if you have any follow-up questions with your statements. Have a wonderful day ahead!
