Bank of China (HK) has discontinued their CBS internet banking service and succeeded by IGTB, how will our sync be affected? And where do we go from here?

Manually uploading bank transactions in QuickBooks is the best that you can do, accounting401.

The discontinuity of CBS internet banking services of your bank can affect the syncing of your bank transactions. You can download a Web Connect file or CSV from your bank's website. Then, save the file where you can easily find it and then import the transactions by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to Banking.
  3. Select Upload transactions, and click the Browse button and choose the file.
  4. Click Next, then select the bank account where you want the transactions to be posted from the QuickBooks Account drop-down. If you don't have an account, you can select Add new or create the account in the Chart of Accounts page.
  5. Click Next to map the columns. Make sure the columns from the Web Connect or CSV file match the columns in QuickBooks.
  6. Click Next twice.
  7. Once prompted, click Yes.
  8. Click Let us go!

On the other hand, if your bank is merging with another financial institution, you'll have to contact your bank to confirm if there are any changes. There are banks that may require you to update your login credential or even ask you for a new account number with the new bank's name.

Please refer to these articles for the detailed steps:

For future reference, I've got this article in case you'll want to categorise your bank transactions: Categorise And Match Online Bank Transactions In QuickBooks Online.

Bank of China (HK) has discontinued their CBS internet banking service and succeeded by IGTB, how will our sync be affected? And where do we go from here?

Bank of China in Hong Kong has been changing their login in portal from https://cib.bochk.com/login to https://lgtb.bochk/login

I have sent requests to QB many times but their feedback is there must sufficient users raising this request.  I am sure that there should be a lot of users in Hong Kong using Bank of China and not being able to link up the bank actually defeats a vital part of the function of Quickbook on matching bank transactions.  Would like to have more support on this to get Quickbook going on this

Thank you Ailene for your prompt response.

It has been twice that I sent requests via the banking link about this and I also contacted support twice, the latest this morning.

My usual experience with QB support has been quite good but this two times, I have been asked to send feedback to the engineer which I have done twice before.  I am surprised that this was not resolved as I saw that the first issue was back in July with someone else.  Our bank accounts with 4 of our companies were only affected in the last 2 months.  BOC is doing it progressively.

I did tell your support that I am going to raise this at the format as his reply was there must be support demand...........totally fed up with the feedback.

Wish that this important function will be rectified soon.

Regards,

Daniel

Thanks for joining the thread, carlos19.

I appreciate the effort you've made requesting for your bank account to be connected to QuickBooks Online. I'll dig a little deeper and share some information about handling your banking transaction.

As you mentioned you're unable to log in to your bank for more than a year, would that be inside QuickBooks or on your bank website? Any details are much appreciated.

I also encourage you to reach out to your financial institution to further help you with your log-in problems. They might have added a secondary layer of security that prevents you from accessing your bank account. In the meantime, you can consider manually uploading your bank transaction. I'll show you how.

  1. Sign in to your bank website and download CSV files of your transactions.
  2. Go to the Banking menu, then click the Link account dropdown.
  3. Select Upload from file.
  4. Locate and choose the file you want to upload.
  5. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks.
  6. Hit Continue.
  7. Select the transactions you want to import.
  8. Click Continue, then Yes.
  9. When you accept your transactions, hit Done.

Once your transactions are in QuickBooks, you can now match and categorise them to ensure they're in the correct accounts.

I'm always here if you need further assistance with banking. Take care and enjoy your day.

Of course i can login to the bank. What i can not do is sync the accounts with quickbooks cause Quickbook not have the support to IGTB business account.

I think already 2 years that i did the first request to to support for add that sync capacity.

I appreciate you for getting back to us and verifying your concern, @carlos19.

There are a few possible reasons why your bank account isn't still supported with QuickBooks Online. Here are some:

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Ensure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign-in URL to ensure you use the accurate listing.
  • Your bank does not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

With this, I'd recommend requesting support for your bank. You can learn more about this by checking out this article's Request support for your bank section: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

Alternatively, you can still manually upload your bank transactions to QuickBooks if you're still unable to connect your bank account.

Bank of China (HK) has discontinued their CBS internet banking service and succeeded by IGTB, how will our sync be affected? And where do we go from here?

Hi,

I am thinking of using Quickbooks for my company but I want to make sure that it can receive bank feeds from Bank of China’s iGTB business accounts.  Quickbooks claims that it supports integration with BoC on this page (https://quickbooks.intuit.com/hk/bank-feeds/) but this thread seems to suggest otherwise.

Can someone please confirm whether Quickbooks is now able to support integration with BoC’s iGTB business accounts?

Many thanks,

Martin

I see.

What's your solution then?  Do you do manual upload as they have suggested?

Thanks for joining this thread, @Martin.

Currently, the option to integrate Bank of China’s IGTB business accounts is unavailable. When your financial institution doesn't show on the banking page when you search for it, only means that the bank account isn't supported.

Alternatively, you can still manually upload your bank transactions to QuickBooks if you're still unable to connect your bank account.

I also suggest requesting support from your bank. You can learn more about this by checking out this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

Hi,

Any updates on connecting to iGTB - Bank of China? This is a deal breaker for my company. Thanks in advance for your help.

I appreciate you chiming in, wyrmgrim. I'll provide some updates about Bank of China's IGTB business accounts connection.

Integrating Bank of China's IGTB business accounts in QuickBooks Online is still unavailable. I understand that having a connection is a deal breaker for your company. For now, manually uploading bank transactions in QuickBooks is the best you can do. You can follow the steps provided by Giovann_G above. Remember to categorise and reconcile the transactions to ensure your books stay accurate.

Moreover, I suggest submitting another bank request to our engineers. This will allow them to have a conversation with your bank about integrating the IGTB business accounts at the Bank of China into QuickBooks.

  1. Go to the Banking tab and select Link Account
  2. Enter your bank URL, then scroll down to the bottom part and click Still can't find your bank?'.
  3. Type your Bank name and web address in the field.
  4. Click Request

You can learn more by checking out this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.
