Do you need to install a QB Desktop license? Which edition and year version?

Which part of the registration process are you having challenges with? Are you getting any prompt messages? Please be as detailed as you can, a screenshot would also be great. Just hide the license and product numbers for security reasons.

I am having difficulty with product registration

Good evening. I's sorry for taking a while to respond but I was caught up with another emergency earlier. I have Quickbooks Pro 2008. As you aware I purchase the current Online version but have yet to migrate (when I know I will need help).

 

The message is saying that I have one day to register, but when I try to do so, it is not accepting it. I am not physically at that location now and cant recall the exact message but I'm afraid of being locked out (which will happen tomorrow).

I would suggest reaching out to our specialist to further check on what triggers the prompt message and can explain to you in detail why it won't accept it when you're trying to register.

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Click on QuickBooks Desktop Help or press F1 on your keyboard.
  3. Select Contact us button. 
  4. Enter a short description of your concern in the Tell us more about your question box. 
  5. Hit Search. Select Start a message.

If you were reinstalling an older version, you may have a change to use it for 30 days prior to activate the license. You have to contact Support to ask the validation code. If they declined to provide the validation code, you don't have any option but to purchase a new QB Desktop license.

QuickBook 2008 needs to be loaded onto new laptop.  Registration doesn't recognize company phone number or zip code.  I have the original disk.

You have to chat Support to get the activation code. Otherwise, purchase a new one time license for QBD 2021 with the validation code to upgrade your version.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. Let me discuss the validation codes in QuickBooks and how it works. Then, ensure you'll be routed to the right person to assist you further on this code and install your QuickBooks Desktop smoothly.

 

Validation codes are used to activate a QuickBooks Desktop product for the United States and Canada versions. Then, you'll have to contact our QBDT support so they can pull up tools that are needed in getting the code and share them with you to start installing the program.

 

If you're utilizing the US version, please follow the steps below on how to reach them:

 

  1. Press F1 to open the Help window.
  2. From the search icon, type Contact Support.
  3. Click Contact us at the bottom part.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue with the validation code and click the Search button.
  5. You'll be routed through How to connect with a QuickBooks expert and you choose which one is best for you.

 

Then, if you're using the QBDT CA, you can open this article to see the instructions on how to contact our support: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.

 

However, if you're using the Internation version, you'll have to contact the person to whom you bought the QuickBooks or license of this program.

It looks like you're trying to activate an unsupported version of QuickBooks. If that is so, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team to help you activate it for you.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Click on QuickBooks Desktop Help or press F1 on your keyboard.
  3. Hit the Contact us button. 
  4. Enter the details of your concern in the Tell us more about your question box. 
  5. Click Search, then select Start a message.
