QB Online in Mainland China

We have been using QB Desktop (Enterprise Services 2015) for almost 8 years and are now considering switching to the Cloud version. However we are based in mainland China and have a few concerns

Are there any users here who use Quickbooks Cloud in mainland China? If yes, would be great if you could share any experiences, especially with regards to

1) Speed in mainland China, as there are no QB servers hosted in China

2) Chinese language support, as not all of our accounting team can speak English and for those who do, using English is slow

3) Any other resources in China you would suggest

4) Want to go for a cup of tea in Beijing or Shanghai? We would love to share experiences.

Thanks and xiexie dajia

QB Online in Mainland China

For Mainland China-based company, you may use QBO Global version for China

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/China

You may change the language setting to Chinese later in Gear > Account and Settings > Advanced > Language.

Currently company only provides native setting for QBO Hongkong version

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/HongKong-option

Your main issue will be the migration path. You can not migrate directly from QuickBooks Desktop to QBO Global version. You will need a migration tool, or purchasing a 3rd party conversion service.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your interest in using QuickBooks Online (QBO), @UserChina.

Right now, there are many users in Mainland China who is using QBO. As for the speed of the system, it depends on your Internet connection and device used. Since QBO has an app for PC and mobile devices.

The language of Chinese is only available for Chinese version of QBO. And for the time being, the only resources is the articles that you can find online through the Community page

Please also know that as for the meantime, there is no QuickBooks Online for Accountant (QBOA) version in Chinese version. QBOA is the version where accountants can be ask and assist regular business owners.

You can get back to me anytime you have additional questions in QuickBooks by posting your response below. I'll do whatever it takes to ensure your concerns are addressed. Have a great day.

QB Online in Mainland China

Hello Miriam,

thanks for the reply! I hope you dont mind me asking a few more questions:

1) How could we find an existing user of QB Online in mainland China? We have asked around a lot and nobody seems to have even heard of it. It would be very valuable for us to speak to someone who is actually using Quickbooks online in mainland China at the moment already.

2) Do you know where we could find more information about the QB Online Chinese version in Chinese? All the forum pages are only in English so not so useful for our Chinese staff. Is there a Chinese language forum, help pages or anything like this at all?

3) So far the only thing we could find is a reseller in Singapore. Do you know if there are re-sellers in mainland China or at least Hong Kong or Taiwan available?

Thanks for all your help and if you ever come by Beijing, we would love to invite you for a big Beijing duck and Tsingtao dinner :)

Thanks for getting back, @UserChina.

Yes, we do have a QuickBooks version for China. To find out more about this product, you can refer to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/global/.

Regarding your question about finding a QBO user in China, we're unable to expose any personal information of the other users. However, I've already changed the country location of this question to global so that it can be easily found by other QBO users in your country.

This way, they can communicate with you through this thread. Additionally, this post might help if you need to get a simplified version of Chinese language in QBO: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-sg/other-questions/do-you-have-a-version-in-simple-ch....

Also, I'd really love to try your Beijing duck and Tsingtao dinner someday. Thank you for the invite :).

I'll be around to help If you need anything else or if you have follow-up questions. Have a nice day!

@UserChina

What did you mean with "reseller in Singapore" ? Keep in mind, you don't need any reseller to purchase QBO subscription. If you deal with a certain accounting firm in Singapore, they will use the QBO Accountant - Singapore version and will offer you using a QBO Singapore. Its version is different with QBO Global version for China as we have mentioned earlier. Unfortunately there is no QBO Accountant - Global version yet.

Hope it helps.

thanks a lot for the reply and sorry for getting back to you late, we just got back from Christmas vacation. I hope you had a great holiday.

1) We would be very happy to buy QB directly from Intuit, however do you know any contact in mainland China (preferably Beijing) of Intuit we could talk to who speaks Mandarin? We have been struggling to get in contact with a representative there, as things seem to just be available in English.

2) One of our main issues right now is how we could transfer data from our current Quickbooks 2015 enterprise edition to the online version and we need some advice on how to go about that. We were also thinking about not transferring past data and just transferring lists (products, employees etc.), but are not sure which way is the better one to go. Any suggestions where to look?

3) Fully understand that you cant give out contacts of qb users in mainland China, however being able to talk to at least one user who did something similar in mainland China in Mandarin would be enormously helpful. We have been searching for a long time and have not been able to find any users of QB online in mainland China at all. In case you or anyone else is in contact with a user in mainland China, could you pass my contact details on to them?

thanks. Its been very difficult to get in touch with Mandarin speaking people from Intuit and the re-seller in Singapore was the only one where we managed to get some level of support in Mandarin, which is why we are considering to buy from them. I fully agree that a specialized Singapore version isnt what we want (we are not in Singapore...), but in Beijing there seems to be no local support or QB user community available (or at least we havent been able to find it yet).

It’s nice to see you again, @UserChina.

You can sign up for QuickBooks Online through the website provided by my colleague IntuitLily. From there, click the See Plans & Pricing to view your options.

Our available customer support as of this time only speaks English. Let me pass along this idea to the appropriate department and team members for consideration in the near future.

When it comes to the converting process, we transfer all compatible data existing in your provided file to QBO. However, we only validate (check and correct) info for the range you have requested. We advise keeping a backup of relevant data to have a history of transactions before the conversion date.

At this time, directly transferring data from the Desktop file to our Online version is currently unavailable. You need to export the lists in a CSV format and import them to QBO. The information you can export includes:

  • Customers
  • Suppliers
  • Chart of Accounts
  • Products and Services or Items

I recommend checking out this article for the details: Import or export MS Excel files.

Once done, you can import the data to QBO. Follow these steps:

  1. From the Settings (Gear) icon, pick Import Data.
  2. Select the list you wish to upload.
  3. Map the data.
  4. Complete the importing process.

Take a look at this article for the details: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

Though I can't pass your contact details and recommend someone who uses QBO in mainland China, you can reach out to our contributors in the QuickBooks Community Singapore forum for ideas. Some of them may encounter users across the region that speaks Mandarin and has experience using the program.

Please let me know if there's anything else you need. I'm here to help. Take care!

@UserChina

There are QBO Hongkong version. You may also consider one of these option.

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/HongKong

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/HongKong-option

Hopefully their local team may speak in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English to support your company.

To migrate your data (e.g lists and outstanding transactions) from QuickBooks Desktop, you may utilize the exporter tool.
