Hello there, ME-
I'm here to share information about migrating your data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and help you with the process.
I agree with what Fiat Lux - ASIA mentioned above. There are a few limitations to keep in mind before you convert or migrate from QBDT to QBO. One of those is converting with multicurrency transactions is currently not supported. This is the possible reason why your reports are different.
As a workaround, you can look for a third-party applications that can be integrated to QuickBooks that will allow you to migrate your multicurrency transactions from QBDT to QBO.
There are hundreds of third-party applications that can be integrated to QuickBooks. You can visit our App Center to look for one: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/en-global/.

Hi
Thanking you for your reply and suggestion. Could you give me more details on how this third party service works? Will I require this third party application going forward or is it only whilst I am migrating the data. Sorry for the questions but am totally unfamiliar with this. I am having a terrible experience in migrating data from desktop to online.
You only need to purchase the conversion service once. Click on my profile name and you can find our website address to send an email to. Otherwise, you can explore to use a migration tool by yourself if required. e.g TPExporter for Desktop and TPImporter for Online.

Hello there, @ME-. Let me chime into this thread and share some insights about your query.
The third-party tool will only be used in the migrating process since its job is to be a bridge in converting data. Once the migration of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) data to QuickBooks Online (QBO) succeeded, you can now proceed using QBO without the third-party application.
Moreover, I'll also share this article that can serve as your reference if you want to learn what data you can bring over to QBO: Import data from other software into QuickBooks Online.

Hi DHeraV
My big question here is if I used the third party to migrate the data, will I still need to carry out manual corrections due to the multi-currency accounts? I migrated the data with move my books but I have 106 differences due to the multi-currency transactions in our data. I am asking if it is possible to migrate all the data across correctly
if I used the third party to migrate the data, will I still need to carry out manual corrections due to the multi-currency accounts?
If you buy our conversion service, you don't do anything manual correction afterward. We bring over multi currency transactions in the same foreign currency at the same exchange rate as fed in the source software.
Hi, ME-. I'll share additional information regarding migration data into QBO.
Converting data to QuickBooks Online has its limitations. To name one, transactions with three (3) different currency types won't transfer to QBO.
To address your question if it's possible to convert all data across, it will depend on the third-party conversion tool you use. We cannot guarantee what data the app will bring into QuickBooks Online.
In addition, check this article about frequently asked questions regarding importing in QBO: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted in the comment below if you need more help. Thanks!
