Who signed up for your QBO account?
What is the home currency by default? HKD or VND?
Hi Deity Alpha,
Thank you for your respone.
I've signed up myself and I'm now in Viet Nam. My home currency is USD.
Thank you for posting here, @Linh-Mangotiger.
Let me share info about correcting the region that shows in your invoice.
Since you utilize a Vietnam registered number and if you selected this country during registration, QuickBooks determines your account as located in this region regardless of your company address.
Thus, changing the registered country is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). If you wish to change the region, you'll need to create a new account by choosing the country first: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/.
You can read this article for more info: Can I change the account's country?

Hi Bryan_M
Thank you for your information.
We've subscribed to and already paid the yearly fee for Advanced plan, so I prefer not to create another account. What are the potential effects on my account if my company located in Hong Kong but I choose Vietnam as the region in QBO?
I'm here to discuss the potential implications of having a different account region with your company location in QuickBooks Online (QBO), accounts.

How long have you been using this QBO account? Less than 60 days?
Thank you.
Hi Deity Alpha,
I have been using QBO for a month.
You can ask for the full refund and sign up for a new QBO Global version for HongKong
You can use the migration tool before cancelling your old account to migrate data to the new QBO account.

Another option, you can purchase a 3rd party migration service.
Thank you for your suggestion.
I tried to sign up for a new account and realized that there isn't an option to choose a region during the process. Instead, I had to go directly to the link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/. The issue is that I need to have a Hong Kong phone number, which doesn't make sense since I'm in Vietnam and only have a Vietnamese phone number. Don't know what I should do now.
If you don't have anyone in HongKong who can help you sign up, you can ask a Global ProAdvisor to help for a small fee. They can sign up for a new QBO Global version for Hong Kong and invite you as a Company Admin. You can use your mobile phone number in Vietnam to be invited. Then they will transfer the Primary Admin access to you and you will continue to use your mobile number to access the Global version of QBO for HongKong.
Thank you very much!
