Traditional Chinese characters become garbled after upload to QBO

I am from Taiwan and use QBDT Premier Contractors 2012.

When I transfer my QBW file to QBO, all the traditional Chinese characters become garbled.

I have try these:

1. Use QuickBooks Pro/Premier online tool, not work after upload my QBW file, no matter original 2012 or the QBW file I upgrade from enterprise 2024 trial. The Chinese characters are fine in these 2 QBDT version.

2. Downlaod QBDT Enterprise 2024, press CTRL+1 > CTRL+b+q > cannot upload to my QBO account because my QBO trial account is essential won't read enterprise file.

Is there any way I can upload my data to QBO without garbled charaters?

Thanks in advance.

Traditional Chinese characters become garbled after upload to QBO

Hello there, Arno.

To confirm, are you trying to import your data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to a QuickBooks Online non-Us-based company? If so, you possibly experience garbled characters due to the different regions of the two products.

If that's the case, you can use a third-party application that helps you convert data from QBDT to your QBO Essential company. You can go directly to the QuickBooks App Store website to find one.

  1. Go to this link: QuickBooks Apps.
  2. You can select a specific category under the Categories section.
  3. Then, make sure to review the key benefits and FAQs.
  4. Once done, click the Get app now button.

I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing the growth of your business using QBO: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about account management, bank transactions, and vendors and inventory, to name a few. You can click the + More topics button to view other selections.

Please let me know if you have more concerns about moving data to QBO. Or if you have any QBO-related concerns.

Downlaod QBDT Enterprise 2024, press CTRL+1 > CTRL+b+q > cannot upload to my QBO account because my QBO trial account is essential won't read enterprise file.

Try opening a QBO Plus trial account (US version), not QBO Global version. Then try converting your data again from QB Desktop 2021 Pro (trial version). Run the Condense Data utility to delete all data except the current fiscal year to reduce the size of your file and speed up the conversion process.

Hi 4Gal,

How to find my QBO version?

How to open QBO trial account as US version, not Global version?

Thanks,

@Arno Weng

You can check this one. You need to have a US phone number to proceed

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/#

If you don't have a US phone number, you may have other options to consider.

1. Keep using QB Desktop. You can still purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or Premier Plus.

2. Switch to QB Online Global version for Taiwan

a. Keep your historical data in QB Desktop 2012. You can also use the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 for good to access your historical data. Then you will start from scratch in QB Online.

b. Purchase a 3rd party service to convert data from QB Desktop to QB Online Global version.

Let me chime in on this conversation, Anton. To help you go to the QuickBooks App.

QuickBooks App is a form of a third-party app as it allows for enhanced functionality tailored to a company's specific needs.

Here's how:

  1. Go to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/en-global/
  2. In the search bar, type the keyword of the process or transaction you need.
  3. Browse the suggested apps that match your needs. Then, click Get App Now.

Moreover, you may refer to these articles and video tutorials on how to navigate and perform tasks within the program:
