Why can’t I move my data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online?
by Intuit• Updated 1 week ago
We’re currently updating our migration process to make moving your data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online smoother and more reliable.
The new process will:
- Improve the overall migration experience
- Increase the accuracy of data transfer
- Allow larger data files to be moved without size limits
What this means for you
Unfortunately, we have to temporarily hit the pause button on all QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online migrations, starting on June 16.
This means that we won't be able to help you transfer your QuickBooks Desktop data over to QuickBooks Online. However, you can still manually move your data across using the Excel CSV files.
The good news is that the new migration process will allow you to move larger files with no size limitations!
We’ll update this article as soon as the new migration process is available.
Why is this happening?
We’re focused on building simple, effective tools to help you manage your business and stay compliant. To do this, we’ve had to temporarily pause migrations while we roll out the improved process.
In South Africa, QuickBooks Desktop is being discontinued. Moving to QuickBooks Online ensures you continue to receive support and benefit from the latest product updates.
