Can I copy a companies setup to a new company?

Thanks for choosing QuickBooks Online in managing your companies, neal-vipo-int-co. I can see the importance of copying your company setup. I'm here to share some insights.

The ability to copy a company setup is unavailable. You'll have to manually re-setup the information in the new file.

For the detailed process, please see this article: Get started with QuickBooks Online.

In case you haven't selected the correct version for your new company, you can check out our Plans and Pricing website.

Also, if your new company is under the same EIN, you can use the location tracking feature instead. Otherwise, you'll have to subscribe to a new version.

Additionally, I've added an article that'll help you set up and use the VAT feature in QuickBooks Online. This ensures accurate filings: Get Started with your Taxes.

Please let me know if you need help in setting up your new QuickBooks file, neal-vipo-int-co. It's always my pleasure to assist you.

@neal-vipo-int-co

What do you mean with "a company setup"? Do you need to duplicate the CoA from one QBO account to a new one or else?

Thanks for coming back, neal-vipo-int-co.

We can import your chart of accounts using an Excel CSV file. Here's how to format your spreadsheet so you can import it to QuickBooks:

  1. Open your existing spreadsheet of accounts or create a new one.
  2. Make sure you have these columns in your spreadsheet: (Account Name, Type, Detail Type, and Number). 0p-0-
  3. If you organise your accounts by number, add an Account Number column.
  4. If you have different currency accounts, add a Currency column. We'll need to have turned on multi-currency to import set up accounts using a different currency. Multi-currency is only available in QuickBooks Online Essentials or Plus, skip this if you do not use multiple currencies.
  5. If you have a sub-account, add it in the Account Name column in this format: (Main account: sub-account)
  6. If it looks correct, save your spreadsheet in Excel or CSV format.

For the detailed steps, check out this article: Import your chart of accounts to QuickBooks Online. Also, we can import the following information to QuickBooks Online:

  • Bank Transactions
  • Customers
  • Suppliers
  • Chart of Accounts
  • Products and Services
  • Invoices
  • Bills
  • Journal Entries
