Can I disable the account login confirmation code?

Hello there, @conrad2.

The reason why you're being asked to verify your account upon every single log-in is that the Two-Step Authentication has been enabled on your account.

To disable this option, here's how:

  1. Log in to the Intuit Online Account management portal.
  2. Navigate to the Security tab. Click Turn Off to expand the Two-step verification section.
  3. Click Turn Off.
  4. Enter the one-time passcode you received and click Continue.

For more information, you can check this article: How do I Enable or Disable the op-in Two-Step Verification? Please know that this article is for QuickBooks Online but it also applicable for QuickBooks.

Once the feature is disabled, you will only be asked to verify your account when you log in from a new device (PC or mobile), a new browser, or when you clear or reset your current browser's cached data.

Drop me a reply below if you have other questions and concerns QuickBooks. Have a good day!

Can I disable the account login confirmation code?

THIS DOESN'T WORK. I don't have 2FA enabled on my account. Every time I log in, it forces me to input a code that it sends me via e-mail. Then 50% of the time after that, it ends up having to send me a text message after I log in ... WTF? Why can't I disable this? Why can't Intuit be a normal company and offer true 2FA if the goal is security? This is driving be absolutely nuts. Ohh, by the way, if I'm in a foreign country or if I'm traveling on a plane, I can't receive a text message... why can't I use an authenticator app?

Thanks for bringing this one to our attention, I-N-T-U-I-NOT.

Email won't be an option when setting up two-step verification for your account. Two-step verification is a setting where you need to verify, using a code, that you're the one accessing your account every time. This disables the usual multi-factor authentication process that gives you the option for voice call, text, or email. To learn more about this one, see the Verify your account with multi-factor authentication article.

Since you did not set up two-step verification, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. You may send a message via chat. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern.
  4. Click Let’s talk.
  5. Choose Start a chat. and type in your contact info.

Visit our Account Management page to learn more about managing your Intuit Account.

The Community will always have your back if you need anything else in QuickBooks Online. Assistance is just one click away. Take care always.

WRONG! Support wasn't able to fix this... big surprise. Basically was told "ohh well" and the support rep ignored the request and attempted to move on.

Why can't QBO support standard Authenticator applications and stop making stupid assumptions about what's best for users?
