Bank transactions not downloading correctly

Recently signed up for the trial version of QB online, and am a little concerned - I've connected my QB profile to my FNB account, but the transactions do not seem to download correctly. Specifically with regard to bank charges and prepaid airtime - some of these transactions seem to duplicate themselves, while others are not carried over to QB at all. Any ideas as to why this would happen and what I can do to correct it?

Bank transactions not downloading correctly

Hello, ezmari.

A warm welcome to you in the Community space. Let me address your concerns about the duplicated and missing bank transactions.

For duplicate bank transactions, it's possible that the bank sent them twice. This usually happens after a maintenance update from the bank. To fix this, we can exclude them from the downloaded transactions page.

Here's how:

 1. Go to the Banking page.
 2. Click the For Review tab.
 3. Put a check mark on the duplicate transactions.
 4. Click the Batch Actions button.
 5. Click Exclude Selected.

For the missing transactions, it's likely that the transactions aren't posted yet. Also, some banks don't post transactions until at a later time or in the next day. Our system downloads the transactions automatically overnight. It's best to wait for them in the meantime.

Alternatively, we can try downloading them manually by clicking on the Update button in the Banking page. We recommend doing this 3-5 times to ensure all of them are downloaded properly.

For a detailed explanation about this, you can check this article: Banking Transactions are Duplicates, Missing, or Wrong or Bank Balance not Updating.

If there's anything else you'd like to know, please let me know. I'm here to help.

Bank transactions not downloading correctly

Thank you so much for you answer, and for your warm welcome :)

I will definitely follow the recommended steps for reviewing duplicate transactions - much appreciated.

However, the missing transactions I am referring to range in dates from mid Feb 2018 to current (mid March 2018) - so I do not think that it could be due to not being posted yet. Any other recommendations?

Bank transactions not downloading correctly

Hi, ezmari.

You're welcome and thanks for the up vote and recommendation!

I appreciate the clarifications. It looks like this is also related to the bank's maintenance updates. There are times when the bank sends the transaction twice or never sends them at all.

We can try reaching out to your bank to see if there's a way to download the missing transactions to QuickBooks. Alternatively, you can upload them manually. For steps how, you can check this article: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1145233.

Please note that this will download all the transactions within a specified date range.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. Thanks!
