Hi Florencia!

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! I'm happy to provide details about the Class tracking feature.

Yes, there's an option to assign classes to transactions in the Global version as long as you're on the QuickBooks Online Plus plan. If you're on the Simple Start or Essentials, you can upgrade to Plus using the steps below.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  2. Select Settings ⚙ and then Account and settings.
  3. Select the Billing & subscription tab.
  4. Make sure your payment info is up to date.
  5. In the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan.
  6. Review the Plus plan and then select Choose plan.
  7. Follow the on-screen steps to upgrade your plan.

You can refer to these articles when you turn on the mentioned feature and assign classes to your transactions:

Don't hesitate to go back to this thread if you have questions as you follow the steps or anything about class tracking. Take care!

Thank you SO MUCH for your reply.

The thing is that it is a free trial account, I have about 10 more days in this version and when I go to the Billing & subscription tab there is an error so I´m not able update my plan. I don´t know how ó who ask for help

Thanks for leaving us an update, @florencia-pulppo.

Allow me to chime in and drop additional information about class tracking in QBO.

I appreciate your effort in following the steps provided by my colleague above. May I know what error you've encountered while doing the process? This way, I can identify the correct resolution I can provide.

Please know that as long as you are using QuickBooks Online Plus, you still have the option to use class tracking even if you're using a trial account as well as upgrading your plan.

For now, we can try performing some basic troubleshooting steps. An outdated or corrupted site data in the browser causes runtime and unexpected behaviors in the program. Thus, logging in to your account using a private or incognito window helps us have a better experience when using QuickBooks, such as importing bank transactions.

Please refer to the shortcut keys I've listed below:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

Once you're in, let's try upgrading your account again. If it runs smoothly, we can clear the cache and cookies on your regular browser to start over fresh. Switching to other supported web browsers can be a good alternative, too.

I’m also adding these resources to help manage your company using class tracking efficiently:

You can reply on this thread, and feel free to keep me posted on your progress. I'm determined to help you succeed. Keep safe always.

@florencia-pulppo

You cannot upgrade the trial account plan. You have to pay for it first and upgrade the plan. Another option, signup for a new trial account for QBO Plus.
