Who signed up your QBO account? You should signup for QBO US version, not QBO UAE version.
I followed a google link which was in English and with no indication of UAE features. After logging in with my existing Intuit US account and signing up for QBO, I noticed the UAE features. Is there a way to switch or should I delete the account and create a new one, if possible?
You need to signup for a new QBO US version. You can purchase a 3rd party migration service or use a 3rd party tool to migrate data from QBO UAE version if required before cancelling it.
Thank you for using QuickBooks Online, @ng20.
It sounds like you spent a lot of time figuring out how to switch to the correct country. I understand the importance of functional features and VAT systems according to your region.
The account’s region is set by the website on which the subscription is made. Therefore, the link you followed from Google could be for the UAE. That's why you still receive communications and VAT options in Arabic even if you add the US address and currency.
Additionally, there's no way to switch from one region to another. Not to worry, I can provide clear steps to change from UAE to the US. Let's start by following the steps below to cancel your account:
You'll receive a confirmation email containing the cancellation details. It tackles what happens to QuickBooks Online data after ending your subscription. For other ways to revoke your account depending on where you purchased it, refer to this article: Cancel your QuickBooks Online.
Since you wish to change to the correct country, visit this link and choose United States: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/. This will route you to a page where you can find a plan that’s right for you. See these screenshots for their comparison:
As per Fiat, you can use a third-party app to migrate data. You also have the option to export reports, lists, and other data and then import them to the newly created account.
I'm adding this guide for more tips on navigating with QuickBooks Online: Get started. It will walk you through the tasks of setting up.
