Can quickbook online be migrating to quickbook desktop?

You can export and convert your QuickBooks Online file to QuickBooks Desktop, @hksystem.

All you have to do is open your QBO account and run our migration tool. Here's how:

  1. Log in to the QuickBooks Online account you want to convert.  Use your Intuit Account credentials.
  2. Highlight the URL and replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt.  The URL should say https://cxx.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdtXX  in the URL is a number, (don't edit the number) and select Enter on your keyboard. Other support task links won't work during this process.
  3. You'll see an Export Overview window. Read the Export Overview. You can print it if you'd like. Click Get Started.

For the detailed steps about the process, check out this guide: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm also attaching this link to know the limitations when converting your file.

Feel free to message me anytime if you still have questions or concerns with the program. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a nice day ahead.

@hksystem

You are unable to to migrate QBO non-US version data directly to QBDD US. You may have 2 options:

1. Utilize a migration tool. i.e TPExporter for Online, TPImporter for Desktop

https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

Then you may purchase a one time license of QBD 2021 Pro for 1 user worth $399 or Premier for 1 user worth $499 thru a partner.

Can quickbook online be migrating to quickbook desktop?

Hi Team,

I tried to use Chrome and Firefox to access https://cxx.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt, but it is only showing up the word Export Overview without the Get Started button, please see attached screen cap.

I tried to use IE11 to access the page, but it is showing up all blank page.

I have successfully conducted the migration last year with using IE11, however, this method is not working anymore in this year, please advice.

Thanks for getting back to this thread and sharing the steps you've taken, @hksystem.

QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) migration tool supports all browsers except Internet Explorer 11. Sometimes local internet cache files stored in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product. This can be the reason why you're unable to access the link.

Let me share with you some basic troubleshooting steps that will help you fix this right away.

First, open the link using a private window. This is a special mode that doesn't track the browsing history on your device. Simply press the following short cut keys to access it:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

If you're able to open the link, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache

However, if you're still getting the same issue, I'd recommend reaching out to our Intuit Data Service team. This way, they can migrate your QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to QBDT for you.

Please take note that you need to use a QBO-US version before you can proceed with this process.

Additionally, there are certain limitations when you convert from QBO to QBDT. You can check out this article to know more about what data does and doesn't export from QBO.

I'm still here if you have other questions about this process. Just post your questions here and I'll respond as soon as possible. Enjoy your weekend.

Can quickbook online be migrating to quickbook desktop?

I have 3 businesses that I need to convert from QBO to QBD. I successfully converted 2 of the businesses by using the process of replacing everything after /app/ in the URL to exportqbodatatoqbdt. It worked seamlessly for 2 of my companies. The third and final company that I am trying to convert is not working. It is on the same account as the other two. I just keep getting an email back from Intuit stating that "Unfortunately there was a problem and your file was not created". Of course it gives you links to contact support that don't work and when I actually was able to chat with support the person, Khim Rhea Bianca P., said that they are no longer supporting exporting QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop. She gave me links to apps that you can pay an arm and a leg for but I just don't understand why I was able to convert 2 of my companies but not my 3rd. Any suggestions? I feel like I have tried every piece of advice I have read over the last 2 days. Thank you in advance.

Can quickbook online be migrating to quickbook desktop?

Hi there, @Danielle2021.

I understand how difficult it is to convert the file because of the feature or option limitations on both ends, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and QuickBooks Online (QBO).

As mentioned by one of our technical support agents, they're currently not supporting data migration from QBO to QBDT. As a workaround, you can export the lists and reports to your new QBDT file by following the steps in this article: Move lists and balances from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

Another resolution for the conversion process is to use a third-party app that is integrated with QuickBooks. You can check out this page to look for one that best suits your needs: https://intuit.me/3kYmroz.

As always, our doors are always open to help you if you have any QuickBooks-related concerns or questions. I wish you success.

@Danielle2021

Make sure the last QBO account you wish to migrate is also QBO US version. Otherwise you may need purchasing a 3rd party conversion service.

Can quickbook online be migrating to quickbook desktop?

Hello there, @jpclm.

I'll share some clarification about migrating your QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

The steps shared by my peer, ShiellaGraceA, above will only apply to QBO for the US version. If you're using the QBO International version, you can also consider utilizing a third-party application from the QuickBooks App Store to help you with the migration process.

However, if you're using the QBO for the US version, I suggest following the steps through a private/incognito window if you haven't tried it. The private window will not save any history, making it a good place to identify browser problems. To save you time, use either of these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If you can click the button using a private browser, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser.

Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too. They'll provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.

Here's an article for more details about this process: Move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

After migrating your data, you'll want to visit this article to manage your customers, vendors, items, and financial accounts in QBDT: Get started with QuickBooks Desktop. This article is for the US region as QBDT support isn't available in the global version.

Feel free to get back to me if you need further assistance with migrating your QuickBooks data. I’ll be more than happy to work with you again. Have a good one!
