QBO e-invoicing feature (for Malaysia)

Greetings! @SuzanaCS. We are thrilled to have you join our Community space. I'll ensure to provide information regarding your e-invoicing concern in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

As of the information available, QuickBooks Online (QBO) does not have an e-invoicing feature specifically for Malaysia. However, QBO users in Malaysia can consider using third-party solutions to integrate with the Malaysian e-invoicing portal.

On the other hand, QBO supports thousands of third-party applications for all functional needs, including invoicing apps. Visit the Intuit App Center and enter a keyword in the search bar to explore the options.

Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, click Apps.
  2. Go to the Find Apps tab.
  3. Use the search bar to look for an app.

In addition, you can wait until the end of December 2024 before considering your options. While waiting for updates, QBO users can review the link on managing invoices in QBO: Create invoices in QuickBooks Online.

I'm also adding these links for future reference in managing progress invoices and payments in QuickBooks:

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we implement this new feature. Our goal is to provide you with the best possible experience in the future. If you require further assistance with managing your invoices, please tag my name in the comment section. Have a great day ahead!

QBO e-invoicing feature (for Malaysia)

@SuzanaCS

You have to wait for third-party connectors to integrate with QBO.

QBO e-invoicing feature (for Malaysia)

Any updates / recommendations on third party apps that support e-invoicing for Malaysia?

Does QBO have any plans to do direct implementation?

QBO e-invoicing feature (for Malaysia)

We can't provide the specific application for e-invoicing, Catherine. Let me show you how to look for one instead for seamless invoice processing.

There are several applications that you can integrate with QuickBooks Online, which can make your business process more efficient. Since e-invoicing is unavailable in QuickBooks for Malaysia, you can use a third-party application that suits your invoicing needs.

Here's how to find one within the product:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Apps from the left pane and head to the Find apps page.
  3. Enter a keyword from the Search field.

After that, you can proceed to these steps to download the app:

  1. Select the app of your choice.
  2. Click on Get App Now. The button will display Opt-in Now if it's in beta testing and Learn More if it requires you to connect the app from within their system.
  3. Ensure to authorize the app to connect to your QBO.
  4. Observe the remaining instructions carefully to link and set up the app settings.

Alternatively, you can visit this link to explore other options: QuickBooks App Store | Online Tools to Power Your Business.

On the other hand, we currently don't have updates regarding the direct implementations of the e-invoicing feature in QuickBooks. Hence, I recommend sending feedback directly to our product engineers. They might incorporate your suggestions when working with future product updates, considering their benefits in enhancing customer experience.

Moreover, consider scanning these resources to show your customer their outstanding balances and for guidance on recording their payments:

Please know we're just around if you have additional questions about processing invoices electronically in QuickBooks Online. We're willing to offer further assistance at any time.

QBO e-invoicing feature (for Malaysia)

@Catherine98

One of QBO's competitors plans to support eInvoicing in Malaysia by the third mandate for small/medium businesses in July 2025. I'm not sure Intuit will release QBO Malaysia version to comply. We'll have to wait until Q1-2025 to find a third-party PEPPOL solution to integrate with QBO. For now, you have to work manually. My clients are considering purchasing a third-party service to convert their data next year.
