QuickBooks Pro Power Hour Terms & Conditions

Official Rules

Your chance to win a ‘Pro Pack’ for your practice contest starts on 13 May 2021 at 11.00 am AEST and ends on 21 May 2021 at 5.00pm AEST (“contest period”). 

ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to accountants & bookkeepers:

  • who are 18 years or older and are an Australian resident;
  • who have registered for the ‘QuickBooks Pro Power Hour’ to be held on Thursday, 27 May 2021 by the deadline (see ‘How to enter’ below); and
  • who have submitted a question for the panel .

Employees of Intuit Australia Pty Ltd (“Intuit”) and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse and parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

HOW TO ENTER:To enter the contest, visit the event registration page, complete the registration form and submit your question for the panel.

All entries must be received by 21 May 2021 at 11.59pm AEST  to be eligible for the contest. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void. Limit of 1 entry for each business. Entries received from any person or email address or household in excess of the limitation will be void. All entries become the sole property of Intuit and will not be returned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF ENTRIES:

Your entry must (i) be your own original work, (ii) be in English, (iii) not be previously published or submitted in connection with any other contest, and (iv) not be offensive or inappropriate, as determined by the Intuit in its sole discretion, nor can it defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s rights or any other third party rights.

Intuit reserves the right to disqualify any entry that it determines, in its sole discretion, is offensive or inappropriate, not in keeping with Intuit’s image or that is otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules.

OWNERSHIP/USE OF ENTRIES: By submitting an entry, you agree Intuit shall own all rights to the entry and that it may edit, modify, and distribute the entry and all elements of such entry, including, without limitation, the names and likenesses of any persons or locations in it, in any and all media now known or developed in the future worldwide, in perpetuity without compensation, permission or notification to you or any third party.

You agree that Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for any unauthorized use of Entries by third parties. You also agree that you will not use the entry for any other purpose, including, without limitation, posting the entry to any online social networks, without the express consent of Intuit in each instance.

JUDGING:  Judging will take place on Monday, 24 May 2021 by a panel of Intuit staff. All eligible entries received by Intuit will be judged by a panel of Intuit personnel based on the creativity and relevance of your question for the panel.

The entry with the highest score will be deemed the potential Grand Prize winner. Intuit reserves the right not to award a prize, if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.

WINNER NOTIFICATION:  The panel’s decision is final and binding on all matters relating to this contest. The winners will be announced by telephone and/or email and may be required to provide any other documents reasonably required by Intuit which must be returned within an agreed timeframe with Intuit. Any failure to sign and return requested documentation within the specified time period, the inability of Intuit to contact a potential winner within a reasonable time period or noncompliance with these Official Rules by any potential winner will result in disqualification and, at Intuit’s sole discretion, the prize may be awarded to a runner-up.

PRIZE: The prizes available include the following:

  • 50 x ‘Pro Packs’ containing snacks, alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages and branded materials valued at $120 each
  • 2 x tickets to the Australian Accounting Awards 2021 valued at $349 per ticket

A Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Intuit reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prize (or a portion of it) with one of comparable or greater value.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: By participating, you agree:

(a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Intuit and judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this contest and you acknowledge and agree that any failure to abide by these Official Rules may result in Intuit ceasing to provide any further referrals as part of the prize;

(b) except as otherwise provided by law, to release, discharge and hold harmless Intuit, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from your participation in the contest or any contest-related activity or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any awarded prize; and

(c) to the use of your name, voice, performance, photograph/video, image and/or likeness for programming, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media, now or hereafter known, worldwide and on the Internet, and in perpetuity by Intuit and its designees, without compensation or additional consents from you or any third party and without prior notice, approval or inspection, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so.

By participating, you also agree not to release any publicity or other materials on your own or through someone else regarding their participation in the contest and in connection with the awarding of the prize without the prior consent of Intuit, which it may withhold in its sole discretion.

If there is a dispute as to the identity of an online entrant, the prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the email address and s/he must comply with these Official Rules. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person to whom the email address is assigned by an Internet service provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.

MISCELLANEOUS: Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, or undelivered Entries; or for unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider, website, or other connections, availability or failed transmissions, or any other errors or difficulties of any kind or otherwise relating to or in connection with the contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the contest, the processing or judging of Entries, the announcement of the prize(s), the incorrect uploading of the entry or in any contest-related materials. Should any portion of the contest be, in Intuit’s sole opinion, compromised by any means, which, in the sole opinion of the Intuit, impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of Entries, Intuit reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the contest and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the potential winner(s) from all eligible, non-suspect Entries received prior to action taken using the judging procedure outlined above.

GOVERNING LAW/JURISDICTION : All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of participants or Intuit in connection with the contest shall be governed by the laws of the state of New South Wales, Australia, without giving any effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Any dispute shall be resolved in a court of law in New South Wales, Australia.

SEVERABILITY:  If any provision(s) of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.
