You can now add a client number or code to your clients in QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA). Its early days however we’re laying the foundation to help you easily reference clients using this unique code.
At this point, you can add the client code manually in the client’s details area in QBOA. This functionality will be soon enhanced to import your client codes in bulk.
To add a client code, click on the client name in the Overview dashboard in QBOA. Select Edit client, then update the Client number field.

To display the client number field on your QBOA Overview dashboard, click on Customise and tick the Client number field.

The client number will then display on the dashboard.
You can hide the column using the options provided in the header, and we have plans to enable sorting by this column in the future.
