Good day, malika1.
Thanks for joining the Community. Let me share some insights with deleting multiple invoices at once in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
The option to delete multiple invoices by batch in QBO is currently unavailable. You'll have to delete them one at a time.
However, you need to write them off and declare them as bad debt since these invoices become non-collectible. This is to clear the invoices out of your Accounts Receivable and reduce the net profit by its amount.
To begin the process, let's create an account for bad debts. Here's how:
- Click on the Gear icon and choose Chart of Accounts.
- Select New.
- Choose Expenses as the Account Type.
- Select Bad debts as the Detailed Type.
- Enter the name of the account.
- Click on Save and close.
Then, let's create a non-product or service item to identify the bad debt:
- Click on the Gear icon and choose Products and Services.
- Choose New.
- Select Non-stock.
- In the Name field, enter Bad Debt.
- Select the Bad Debt expense account you created in the Income account field.
- Click on Save and close.
Now, create a credit note for the debt and apply it to write off.
For further guidance, you can check out the additional steps in this article: Write off bad debt.
This should point you in the right direction in recording a bad debt instead of deleting unpaid invoices.
Please let me know if you have further questions about the process. I'm always glad to help.
