Data mapping is the process of matching fields from one database to another. This is important when bringing data over from another system into QBO. All data fields, such as Customer Name or Supplier Phone Number, must match up in the new and old system. The header row in the CSV file is used by QBO for mapping. QBO sample import templates help customers map data in CSV files to prepare for migration.
