Accountant invite

Hi. I’ve just opened my quickbooks account and sent an invite to my accountant. They responded by saying they needed my password and signin details as they could not access the account via the invite email. Is this something I should do. I’m not sure why they can’t use the email link.

Make sure they have signup for a QBO Accountant UK account to accept your invitation as an accountant. They don't need to know your password to access your account. It would be suspicious if they insisted on finding out.

Accountant invite

Hi Mark728, we don't advise sharing login information; if the accountant is unable to accept the invite, please re-send this to them (in QuickBooks, click the Cog > Manage users > My accountant > Resend invite) and request that they accept this within 24 hours. If they do not have an accountant version of QuickBooks, they can sign up for one which is very easy to do. Any questions just ask.

Thankyou for the replies. I have asked said accountant. This is their reply

it's not that the link doesn't work its that Hirst don't want to set up a quickbooks account, therefore to access it we require your personal logins.

not sure how to respond?

Accountant invite

Hi Mark728, like Georgia has said we don’t advise sharing login information. So, at the end of the day, it is up to you what you want to do if your accountant doesn’t want to get an accountant version of QuickBooks so that they can be added as an accountant user on your account. Like we say we don’t advise sharing same log in detail, but it is up to you what you decide to do.
