Having an issue linking my monzo account to QuickBooks, have tried on both my iPhone and iPad through the website and app, get to continue at the end but nothing happens

Let’s go through some troubleshooting steps to help you connect your Monzo bank account to QuickBooks successfully, Urban.

First, if you haven’t done so already, try connecting your Monzo account to QuickBooks Online (QBO) using your browser’s incognito mode. This can help determine if the issue is related to your browser, as incognito mode doesn’t store cache files that can cause unusual behavior in web-based programs. Here are the shortcut keys for different browsers:

  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N

If this works, clear the cache of your regular browser to remove stored data. If the problem persists, consider using different supported browser or device, as the current one might have a temporary issue with the program.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, log into your bank’s website to check for any maintenance or security notifications that require your approval for third-party apps like QuickBooks. Make sure you’ve granted the necessary permissions, as some banks have additional security measures for connecting to external applications.

Additionally, here are some reasons why you can't connect your bank to QuickBooks:

  • Your bank has multiple listings in our system. Ensure you've selected the correct one or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign-in URL to confirm you are using the correct listing.
  • Your bank doesn't connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts versus business accounts).
  • Your bank isn't a participating financial institution.

In the meantime, you can manually upload your bank transactions into QBO. Once uploaded, QuickBooks will automatically send the transactions to the For review tab and suggest categories for each one. Ensure to carefully review each transaction by matching or adding them to avoid duplicates.
