I've got your back and help you set QuickBooks to log your work journeys, @lynnloubon75-gma.
If you travel for work and plan to write off your trips, you can use the QuickBooks Self-Employed app to automatically track your mileage. All you have to do is turn on the app and let QuickBooks take care of the rest.
To do this, here's how:
- Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
- Go to the menu ☰ icon and then select Mileage.
- Choose Auto-tracking.
- Lastly, turn on Auto-tracking.
Then, QuickBooks will automatically identify and tracks everything from start to finish.
If you forgot your device on a trip or didn't turn it on, you can always record the mileage yourself. Here's how to manually add trips in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
On a web browser:
- Choose the Miles menu.
- Click Add trip.
- Record the distance in the field.
- Edit the Date.
- Add a Trip purpose note.
- Once done, select Save.
