How do I share / invite my accountant?

That's easy, tobysalt. 

 

Your accountant will have the same access as an admin so it's easy for your to work together.

 

Let me show you how to them:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and click Manage Users.
  2. Click Accounting firms tab.
  3. Enter your accountant's email and then click Invite.

Let your accountant view their email to accept the invite from there. Also through the Audit Log report, you'll be able to see who made some changes in your company file. Just go to the Gear icon and then click Audit Log

I don’t seem to have the option on my gear icon for managing users. Can you help?

How do I share / invite my accountant?

Let's perform some browser troubleshooting steps so you'll be able to see the Manage users option. To start, sign in to your QuickBooks Online account using a private browser. There are times that cache and cookies stored on the browser cause problems when running websites. Refer to these shortcut keys to open a private browser:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N 
  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

 

When signed in, invite your accountant again:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and under Your Company choose Manage users.  manageuser1.JPG
  2. Click the Accounting firms tab.
  3. Enter your accountant's email and select Invite.

 

If you successfully see the Manage user option, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. This will remove the stored cache or cookies to refresh your browser. If not, use another supported browser. It could be that the one you're currently using has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.
