I understand your frustration, @richard-beaven-u.
Thanks for being part of the QuickBooks family. I want to ensure you're connected to the right support who can provide detailed information on your subscription fee increase.
Just like any small business, we have to constantly evaluate the cost to deliver a top-tier product each year to ensure you'll be able to easily manage your business and get your accounting done. As a result, Intuit’s QuickBooks Online (QBO) is rolling out new pricing.
To help give you a better idea about the price increase check out this article: QuickBooks Online price changes 2022.
It's possible that you're under the discounted price for the first 3 months of subscribing to QBO. Your current subscription rate is dependent upon its price and any discounts offered at the time of sign-up. If so, after 3 months it will charge you the original price.
Check out this article to learn more about how to manage your subscription management, review fees, and other related matters: Account management.
On the other note, you may also want to check for other QBO products that suites your business needs. Let me route you to our website which provides a list of plans and prices to help you better compare the products: QuickBooks Online Products Comparison.
If there's anything else that I can help you with, leave a comment below. I'll be glad to keep helping. Wishing you the best.
Hi,
I've just seen my monthly costs for QBSE go up by 25%. As far as I can see nothing has changed apart from you buying MailChimp.
What a time to be alive!
NOT.
Please make your products 25% better before hiking up the prices.
I saw my subscriptions go from £237 to £302 between January 2023 and January 2024. Give the mediocre state of the software, the degrading customer service and the apparent lack of any substantial advancement in the software/product offering, the 35% hike can only be ascribed to profiteering.
Hi John, thanks for joining this thread.
We understand increasing prices can be unwelcome news and we're sorry that you feel this isn't reflected in the value of the product. We're continually working on product updates and innovations and we've put together a guide explaining the most recent price changes.
We hope this answers any questions that you may have, however, if you do have any concerns, please get back to us.
Many of our clients are switching back to QB Desktop with non-subscription licenses + MTD Bridging app
What is that, because I am tired of all this poor support, costly and time wasting software. It always has to download when I'm trying to do the app.
Just costly and a waste of time.
Equally upset and have been year on year with these recent price increases. Essentially it appears that Intuit just keep on price matching with Xero/Sage, or they all keep pulling prices up equally. Here we are again in 2024/25 and yet another 17.8% increase in monthly subscription for Quickbooks online.
Previous year 2023/24 was a 16.6% increase for Quickbooks online essentials. So that makes 34.4% over 2 years! There is no other explanation for this other than simple extortion/price gouging. Let me make one thing clear, I like Quickbooks for the fluidity and efficiency it brings, in the same way I like Microsoft 365 products. But, Microsoft increased their pricing for 365 less in 5 years than Intuit did in 1 year, not much more to be said on that front!
Any potential new customers looking at Intuit Quickbooks need to be fully aware, unless anything changes, this will continue at least until pricing outside of the US is equalised, even then I doubt Intuit will relent.
I personally see this as borderline blackmail or ransom tactics, they know how hard it is to switch, unless you move back to an 'offline' product then all roads lead to the same destination. I see no major innovations or changes in the last 5 years, nothing additional for my money, regret the day I ever signed up for Quickbooks Online with regards to the pricing structure.
