I lost connec tion with claudia...our account is not connecting with our bank

It's nice to see you here today, @john164

The support hours may be timed out. That's why you've lost the connection with Claudia. Rest assured that I'm here to ensure you're able to connect your bank with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Here are a few possible reasons you're having a bank connection issue:

  • The bank is performing system maintenance.
  • There are notifications on your bank’s website that need your attention.
  • The bank has multiple names on our list if this is the first time you connect it to the program. Or, the bank isn't a participating financial institution.

If this isn't the first time you connect the bank to QBO, let's first manually update the account. It helps refresh the connection between the bank and the program. I'll guide you how.

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  2. Choose the blue tile for the bank account.
  3. Select Update.
  4. If prompted, enter your Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) credentials.
  5. Click Continue Update.

The screenshot below shows you the first three steps.

Second, you can sign in to your bank's website. Then, check your account page for any messages or alerts, such as new security requirements. Once reviewed, manually update the account again. If you make changes on the website, update your account login credentials in QBO. For more details, see Step 1 - 2 through this article: What To Do If Bank Transactions Won't Download or There's A Bank Error

If this is the first time you connect the bank to QBO, let's make sure to use your bank's URL. It helps ensure you're using the correct listing of the bank. Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. On your bank website's screen, copy the URL and paste it into the Enter your bank name or URL search box.
  4. Choose the bank emblem.
  5. Manually enter your User ID and Password for the financial institution website.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Complete the extra security verification and select Connect.
  8. Select the Account type drop-down menu to your bank account.
  9. Click Connect.

However, if you're still unable to connect the bank to the program or it doesn't appear like a choice, I'd suggest requesting support for your bank. To perform this, see the Request support for your bank section through this article: Identify The Correct Bank. Also, here are the two alternative methods to help complete your task:

Once downloaded, all you have to do is approve the way QBO categorises the transactions. Then, match them against the entries in QuickBooks. To learn more about this process, visit this article: Categorising Bank Transactions

Also, I want to make sure I've got you covered. Can I ask the name of the bank you're trying to connect with QBO? This way, I can provide an accurate solution to fix this. Just click the Reply button below to add some details.

Keep me posted whenever you need help. Enjoy the rest of your day, @john164
