A deleted already reconciled transaction is stopping me reconciling my checking account.

I am trying to reconcile my checking account and it says that the starting balance is off by the value of a deleted transaction.

Can I change the opening balance of a bank account or can i recreate a already reconciled transaction?

Current balance agrees with bank account.

Welcome to the Community, Rod. It's a great pleasure helping you with managing your reconciliation concern in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Most beginning balance issues were caused by an incorrect opening balance. It's the account's starting point you set when you first created it in QuickBooks.

If the account open balance is correct and it is just the deleted transaction that is causing the issue and the transaction should be in the reconcile, then yes you can recreate it. Once you have added the transaction you will need to go to chart of accounts>account history on your bank account> then in the section where it would have a C or an R or be blank (the column has a tick as a header) click until the blank changes to an R and accept the messages and then the transaction will be readded to the reconcile,

Furthermore, I still suggest consulting your accountant or a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor. That way, they can guide you with the appropriate process and ensure the accuracy of your books.

Once everything is good, you may continue reconciling your account in QBO. You can refer to the following steps for reference:
