Bank reconciliations

I have a discerpency whilst completing a bank reconciliation. The difference matches what is on the bank statement, but it does not appear on the Qbs statement to tick off? How do I find the transaction to complete taht weeks reconciliation?

Thanks for contacting Community.

 

If the transaction is not showing on the reconciliation page on QuickBooks as an available transaction to tick off, this can be for several reasons. You would first need to make sure the transaction hasalready been added to QuickBooks, you can do this by checking the Account History  in the Chart of Accounts. Another reason the transaction may not show would be the date, if the date of the transaction is outside of the reconcile period (this may not have been done intentionally but may have been the result of editing the transaction), against his can be checked by looking at the transaction directly. Another thing to check would be to see if for whatever reason, the transaction hasn't already been reconciled. This can be checked again the Account history of the chart of accounts and will show if the transaction has already been reconciled.

 

If you are still having problems and this doesn't resolve the issue, let me know.
