Let me give you some pointers to resolve error 591 when connecting your bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
If you're unable to link your bank, it's more likely that:
Having said that, I'd recommend contacting your bank to confirm any maintenance updates or requests to connect to QBO. If everything is in order, ensure to use the correct bank name when linking the account.
Furthermore, excessive cache buildup in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product. You can clean this up by opening your account in a private window. Please refer to these keyboard shortcuts:
If it resolved the issue, you can return to your regular browser and clear its cache or switch to another supported browser.
Moving forward, you'll have to reconcile your accounts in QBO to ensure they correspond to your bank statements. Doing so ensures that your books are balanced and correct.
You can always get back to us if you have clarifications about connecting your bank account. I'm always here to assist you further. Stay safe.
thanks, Ive done this and it still wont connect.
Ive found out I can connect it by using the phone app,
but it didnt allow me to sync any transactions from last year so this didnt help really.
any other advise?
Thank you for returning to this thread and trying the suggestions mentioned above, ajf1001.
Reviewing your bank's website and using the correct URL when connecting a bank account in our program should help you link them successfully.
I can think of a possible reason why it isn't bringing transactions from last year. Your bank may only let you download the last 90 days of transactions. That's why some of them aren't showing. Please know that QuickBooks only depends on the data shared from your bank.
If that's the case, we can manually upload your last year's bank data. To do it, you have to log in to your bank website and get them using a CSV file. For the information and steps on importing bank data, we can visit this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Also, since the account was able to connect successfully using your phone device, you should normally be able to do it in a web browser. Let's contact our Support Team to investigate this one. They'll ask for your information, review your account in detail, and examine why it's happening on your end. Go to the Help icon and select Contact us.
