Have you resolved open link banking issues with Clydesdale bank?

Hello Info897,

Currently, Clydesdale bank is not on open banking still, it is still being worked on. If you are CSV your transactions into your account, the bank balance will not change. The only time the bank balance will change in Quickbooks is when there is a live connection. There is no way to amend or change the balance that is shown until there is a live connection to the bank.

Thanks
I contacted Clydesdale Bank business banking and turns out we were registered online for Retail banking not Business banking, I have no idea why.
Automatic Bank updates worked perfectly well with our QuickBooks until Clydesdale Bank turned off Open Banking for Retail in mid March.
Since that time we have been required to upload .csv files manually into QB. Unfortunately this process does not update the bank balance.
I have been advised to re-register for online banking using Business Banking and my question to them is.... ...will everything transfer seamlessly from Retail to Business?  Awaiting reply from Clydesdale Bank.

Once this transfer is done, I presume I will need to set up a new banking connection account within QuickBooks and my question for you is.... will the manual transactions that I have uploaded since mid March be duplicated upon automation?
Best wishes

Hey there, info897.

I'm here to help you manage your bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

You'll probably have duplicate transactions once the automatic update is fixed. However, you have the option to exclude and delete them to avoid duplicates. Let me show you how.

  1. In the left navigation tab, click on Banking.
  2. In the For Review tab, select the duplicate transactions.
  3. Click on Batch actions and select Exclude Selected
  4. In the Excluded tab, check the boxes for these duplicates.
  5. Click on Batch actions and select Delete.

To help you manage your bank transactions as well as categorising them, you can go through these resources:

Assign, categorize, edit, and add your downloaded banking transactions

Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online

Please know that I'm just a post away should you need anything else. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
