Hello Community Users! Just wanted to pop in and add some clarification to this thread. If you would like to have a cash at bank and in hand chart of account showing in the banking dashboard but not have the bank connected as it is petty cash you can upload an Excel CSV of the petty cash transactions. To do this you would need to go to the transactions section>click on the downward arrow next to link account and select upload from file and follow the steps making sure to select the petty cash account as the one the transactions are for. The transactions will then show in that section to review and manage. If you do not wish to do this you can manage the petty cash from within the chart of account. You can add transactions and view existing transactions through the account history in that section. You can run reports on any chart of account by clicking on the downward arrow by account history and run report. As well as you can add transactions through expense/sales receipt etc by changing the bank to the petty cash one. Any questions let us know
Hello, Charlotte Recons.
I can definitely guide you on how to get a bank account to show up on your Dashboard.
The accounts (regardless if they have a live bank feed connection or not) will show up on your Dashboard as long as the type is either Cash at bank and in hand or Credit Card. Other account types won't show up however.
Ensure the type for director's personal spends account is correct. If you need to edit it:
The Detail Type for the bank account can be any of the selection in the menu. Here's an example:
Note: Changing the Account Type will affect the accounting and reporting. You might want to consult your accountant before doing this.
If you need to record transactions (or run reports for it) for the directors personal spends account, please check out our help content for guides: QuickBooks Online general topics page.

Thank you
I actually meant the bank dashboard, rather than the summary dashboard. But upon further reading, it seems only ones with a direct feed can be seen there.
How would you suggest running petty cash, for example?
