Transaction on bank statement but not in quickbooks

I can provide details to help you determine those specific transactions in your bank statement, @hazelm. I'm here to ensure you can rectify this and continue reconciling an account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Please know that it is essential to take note of the type of transaction that appears in your bank statement before reconciling an account. If they're money-in transactions, you'll want to check for any payments you haven't deposited from the Undeposited Funds account. In this case, you can do a bank deposit to resolve this. See this article for further guidelines on the process: Record and make bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.

If it's a money-out transaction, it is recommended to recreate it in your company file to keep the books accurate and easy to reconcile. If this is a bank transaction and you've connected any bank account in QBO, you'll want to check the For Review tab on the Banking page for possible transactions that you haven't added or are yet to be categorized. You can check out this article for more details: Categorise online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

In case this is a transaction that you've already entered before and then it went missing, I suggest utilizing the Audit log feature in QBO. This helps you track those missing transaction and then recreate them inside the account. I'll outline the steps to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the top right corner, click Settings and select Audit Log.
  3. Use the fields on the page to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.

For visual reference, see the screenshot below.

To learn more on the Audit log option, please see this page: Use the Audit log in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, I highly recommend checking out this article to help you fix reconciliation inside QBO: Fix issues at the end of a reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

I enjoyed our interaction today, and I would like to thank you for giving me a chance to strive to provide you assistance in handling transactions.
