As a sole trader I use tools on the job, saws drills Sanders ect... I'm surprised there isn't a category for these as I'm used to Xero where it has a tools category. any suggestions please. UK based

Hi swalehandyman-gm The categories that are within the self employed product correspond with the categories set out on the HMRC SA103F form. Please note however the items that you have listed are classed as assets, not allowable/disallowable expenses and therefore will be accounted for in the actual self assessment form in the 'tax allowances for vehicles and equipment (capital allowances' section.
