CIS

I’ve just started using QB self employed.

completed first invoice but forgot to record on it that the CIS has been deducted.

how do I add this going forward , can’t find it anywhere?

Allow me to share some information about how to record the deduction of the CIS on the invoice, RPElec.

 

At this time, recording the CIS feature is only offered in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This is why you're unable to find the option anywhere in your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account.

 

QBSE uses a single-entry accounting and is designed to track business income and expenses. The program will help estimate taxes for you so you can file the Self-assessment form easily. That’s why you're unable to track the CIS in the program.

 

Regarding recording it in your account, I suggest consulting with an accountant for further assistance. They can guide you on how to handle the transaction in QBSE, especially the category type.

 

Otherwise, you can subscribe to QBO, which will auto-calculate and e-file CIS invoices on the go. Go to this link to view the complete details about the features and prices for each version: QBO Plans & Pricing.
